Is that really his motivation though?

Even if Scorpius is based we've seen enough of the other peace keepers commanders that their organization is mainly made up of petty retards and they would 100% use it on all their enemies not just the scarrans

nta, obviously his motivation is that he hates the Scarrans with a burning passion because they raped his mother, kept him as a science experiment and tortured him. Sebaceans don't like him much either but at least they appreciate his qualities and they have a common enemy.

Scorpius wanted revenge for being a Scarran experiment.
I kinda hate how they made him fear the wormhole weapon at the end, he should've be contempt with the whole system being destroyed if it meant the Scarrans were gone with it.

There's an old as interview I've never been able to find again where one of the creators says they wanted to make "Doctor Who, but way better". You can definitely see it.
80's Doctor Who was very into it's fascist dystopias. Scorpius has echoes of Davros going on.
Maybe even moreso is the Blake's 7 influence though.

This is true. The show did a very good job at making Scorpius a morally grey character. But the peacekeepers as a whole are portrayed as objectively bad.

What the show should have done is include more of the peacekeepers actually protecting people from outside threats. Kind of like mob protection, yes they are bad but they will help you too.

no pk wars is just dumb. it completely contradicts scorpius's motivations, he literally says peace is pointless with the scarrans and at the end of pk wars when they sign the treaty hes grinning like a moron.

wormhole - blackholes arent even effective weapons, both factions can already glass planets the utility of wormholes is explained in scorpius early appearances as being logistic ie moving a whole fleet into enemy nerve centers / strong holds and out before they can retaliate

In my head there lives a farscape sequel where baby D is a teen or near 20 and lives on moya with his mom and dad john and aryn as they travel the universe. Then suddenly john and arryn get kidnapped because irrelevant reasons and D has to find out what happened to his parents going planet to planet in an unknown region of space.
Plot twist is that D has a harvey clone in his head since birth because reasons (traveling through sperm) and harvey is his mentor that nobody else sees and tries to help him get John back.

Second plot twist is that he had a younger sister but she actually died recently but Harvey creates a fake clone of her so D doesnt really know.

evidence for what anon...we both watched the show my post was about how the writing in pk wars nonsensically contradicts the series. what is describing what i am criticising suppposed to accomplish?
>>
>>221095527
It doesn't contradict anything.
Scorpius gets what he's been chasing after only to immediately realizes it was a man-made horror beyond comprehension and laments his own hubris because it turned out the ultimate weapon was as much a hazard to the people who used it as it was to the people it would be used on.
Not to mention PK wars comes off a little stilted with the pacing because its an entire season condensed into a miniseries/movie.
Which has always been my problem with the PK wars, you can just see how it would have been better to decompress a lot of those plot points. But what can you do without a time machine.

Anon, you're complaining that he contradicts his character while also acknowledging all of the plot points that his character arc goes through that explains why he 'suddenly' feels differently.
That how an arc works. The character starts at one place, goes through trials and tribulations, and comes out the other side having learned a lesson.
Meanwhile you've been unable to explain how these clear plot points in a series don't demonstrate everything to the contrary of your original silly argument.
Do you even remember the point you were trying to make, or are you just being argumentative for kicks?

You have to put yourself in the mindset of when the show was being released.
Everyone expected shows like that to be highly episodic, planet of the week, monster of the week, and by the end of every episode the status quo is maintained.
But slowly but surely they start having characters changing over episodes, something from a previous episode would have a consequence later.
It kind of creeps in that the show doesn't have a reset button, and this random group of assholes forced together slowly go from hating each other, to reluctant comrades, to friends, to ride-or-die niggas with nothing to lose.
You needed those slow early episodes to sort of build that up, and escalate things.
The show runners were also smart and they played pretty loose with things early because they wanted to see what was working before committing too strongly to any one tone.

Nah, Crais being secretly obsessed with a modified leviathan breeding project is pretty obviously tacked on.
It was very cleverly integrated with the contraceptive shield episode because that was pretty much just a peace keeper tracking device prior to the retconn, but Crais's entire revenge obsession putting the breeding project in jeopardy sort of contradicts what his character would later become.

No retconning is ever perfect, this was very smooth, but lets not pretend they didn't start the franchise off with the full intent on Crais being a larger bad guy.

Is there a reason they didn't keep Stark around as the resident spiritual guy, once Zhan was gone? There's such an obvious opportunity for him to come into his own and have an arc there.
Was it scheduling? Is that why he had long hair in Season 4, but not Peacekeeper wars?
Saying that, I actually liked the long hair, and it felt like it implied some character growth that the character didn't really receive. It makes him look less sniveling and slave-like.

>it was just one production among many
It wasn't really. It was one team in australia shooting out of containers and warehouses left behind from the olympics with henson studios sending them random shit and they'd write a plot around it.
And it was a show where the cast and crew all seemed bought into the production.
Also long hours aren't that bad when you realize they're shooting right off a beach and between takes a lot of the cast and crew would grab a surf board and hit some waves.

That's how a lot of the good '22 episode everyvyear for several years ' felt. The actors had a chance to settle into the roles, and to pitch ideas to the writers or show runners, and they were all on set long enough that there was a real back and forth there. Much rarer to see that in the 'miniseries every few years' style we have on streaming. Focus groups and algorithms have more influence than the actors almost every time.

Moving a fleet into attack position through a wormhole is a massive advantage, and shows a lack of critical thinking if that is as far as you got with wormhole possibilities.
Way back when we had two Johns, the one John and the Ancient created a wormhole weapon that turned a sun into a galactic laser weapon by funneling solar plasma through wormholes.
That's clever thinking, yet in PK Wars, John creates the cheapest, most destructive, universe destroying wormhole weapon.
The eventual goal for weapons is smaller, cheaper, more destructive, and more portable.
The wormhole weapon John used in PK Wars is the eventual goal for wormhole weaponry, the end goal.
Why waste millions of lives, a hundred space cruisers, and trillion upon quadrillions of credits financing an invasion?
All you need is the right math, and two hours for a few DRDs to slap you together a multi use weapon platform that can destroy universes five minutes after activation.
Starburst into a system, drop off the wormhole weapon, set it to turn on, then deactivate after say three minutes, after it has eaten up two or three planets, that your enemies live on.
Scorpius did not see far enough ahead to what the end results of wormhole weaponry would create, and that was why he was glad to never have to use them himself during the signing of the treaty.
I mean, I thought the point was obvious at the end.
John's wormhole weapon being the pinnacle of wormhole weapon tech, thereby showing the Peacekeepers, Scarrans, and us, just what the results of taking this tech to it's ultimate form would cause for peace.
Or, if even worse, a John type wormhole weapon malfunctions. It goes off. And there is no one available to turn it off like John did.
All of reality gone in ten minutes.
That tech would exist forever. All of reality, threatened with a ten minute lifespan, should wormhole tech go bad, ever.

i'm still finishing season 3 but i like how this show so far doesn't dodge the entire plothole with wormholes/warp drives that they're better as a weapon than transport, if you can just teleport in bombs or chunks of the sun why even bother with massive fleets and shit. it never made sense why warp was just for ships in star trek

same with BSG, just jump in nukes. the entire premise of having to take the "defense network" offline is nonsensical unless it magically prevented jumps, you just jump nukes in and you win

pk wars wormhole weapon is a blatant retcon, note that crichton nor the ancients ever describe the tech as so absurdly, directly powerful, its always about fucking up the timeline and the icarus ep is about moving solar plasma which is actually in oine with a wormhole as opposed to the retarded infinite energy glitch blackhole in pk wars. which wouldnt even work as a weapon of war since it would destroy both sides eventually. ie its a doomsday weapon that crichton coule barely stop.

its just terrible writing all around bc they chose to rush 1 or more seasons into the conclusion
