Non meme answer is that China decided to get even with India for banning Tik Tok and some of their other companies. They also realized that India can give them competition in the cheap slave meatbag unskilled labor aspect. Some of them are competent enough to be doctors and coders that are typically Chinese jobs abroad. So, they decided to go "scorched earth" against Indians and ramped up the propaganda against them so much that it's now working and has surpassed racism that used to be against Mexicans, Jews, Muslims and Chinks.
