RTD2 was so aggressively globohomo'd it bordered on self parody. And worse than that it constantly lectured and belittled its audience while simultaneously pandering to them with the return of more pointless "classic" villains like Omega and the Rani (only to ruin them).Both are shit, but I'd have to go for Chibs if only because it's more honest. The Chibs era is basically aware that it's crap, whereas RTD2 is so unbearably SMUG - it's absolute dross that thinks it's genius.
My take, approach Grant Morrison about either writing for or producing the show.He's a fan, he wrote some good comics back in the day, that Brave New World show he produced was okay. I finished rewatching the Capaldi era. It's above average but nothing special. It is somehow less fun but more kino than Smith's era, if that makes any sense. Something like Heaven Sent isn't fun the way something like The Eleventh Hour was but it's more kino. Anyway it's a 7/10 for me which is definitely way higher than everything that came after.
