>best movie villain coming throughwhy was he so kino bros? How do I get as swole as him?
For me? It's still Langella.
>>221097868Both are great in different ways
>>221097741>Skeletor is sponsored by Adidas
>>221097900>AdidasBro I know you didn't just get your fashion logos mixed up.
>>221097868He is the highlight of the 80s movie for sure, but Leto for all his faults gave a great performance in the new movie. He stole the scene every time he showed up. Both are great, both do different things
>>221097900>adidas
>>22109808299% of the people here only hate Leto because they are massive capefaggots. Think about it.If he wasn't in Suicide Squad and Morpheus I doubt he'd get much hate at all.
>>221097741He really did do a great job. His voice/body acting was top-notch.
>>221098116Rofl!
>>221098230Sowwy he ruined teh epic Joker for yinz!
>>221098116I don't hate him either and I'm not sure why everyone does. I know there is some sort of cult thing but if women want to go to a compound and worship you then that's on them.
>>221098309>b-b-but he's not very nice outside of the movies!I don't really see why people are so hung up on that either. Most big actors are like this to some degree. Some of their contracts are downright sociopathic.
>>221097741Having rejescted eternian women, King Randor has coupled himself to the earthling astronaut Marlena promising her dominion of all Eternia! He worships dogs and battlecats, he blackens his eyes with soot like a prostitute.
Uh? Is the movie good? Why is Skeletor working out?
>>221097741>>221097868Both the best parts of their respective films.
>>221098516>Is the movie good?Every single moment is undercut with a joke that 9/10 times does not land to the point where it gets exhausting and the story is a slog to get going really. Its not great but they nailed the costumes, casting, and score. Skeletor goes through He-Man's mind and inserts himself in various Earth settings from his past like the gym, office, etc...
He's the type of kino villain you just can't help but upvote
>>221098548I honestly believe the jokes were added with ai.
>>221098548Yeah the entire movie was painfully unfunny. It's really weird because every scene had a really clear way where they joke could've landed yet every single time it doesn't. It really takes some sort of cursed talent to fumble a joke that many times in a row. It's like a whole movie is comprised of only outtakes.
>>221098548Wait this is actually from the movie?
>>221098548Case in point: this was one of the few actually funny scenes and they *still* had to undercut it with a forced unfunny dick joke at the end, like holy shit give it a rest. The "humor" in this is the kind of shit I'd expect in a youtube parody video made by high schoolers, not a $200mil theatrical film.
>>221098603yeah
>>221098548I thought the jokes were fine. I think you are suffering from marvel fatigue to the point you interpret all humor as marvel humor
>>221098516>is the movie good?I thought it was fun but not amazing, the people saying they undercut it all with a joke are right. Well most things, there are a few nice sincere moments. Most of the jokes aren't that funny but a few are, mostly to do with Skeletor. Overall though it was alright, Skeletor is definitely the highlight. >why is Skeletor working out?In the final fight he invades He-Man's mind and and basically lives as him for a bit, including him working out and working in HR. it's actually the funniest part of the movie.
>>221097741
>>221098704They literally did the Marvel thing about mocking the original name or element in every single scene anon
>>221098492>I need pictures! pictures of spider-man!
I liked Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, and Teela
>>221098516it's a solid 6/10
>>221098812
>>221098779They did it in an endearing way. Besides all the characters literally come to embrace their names later. Instead of the movie looking at the audience and saying "isn't this all silly" it does that but then follows it up with "but isn't it fucking awesome anyways fuck it" which is a lot more sincere than any marvelshit movie. Being mad at this movie is literally just a sign that you went into it wanting to be mad and not really paying attention to what was happening
So did they defeat toxic masculinity or not?
I felt like things got too awkward between Duncan and Adam at the end. I wish it became a more genuine friendship.

>>221098920I went in wanting to like it anon, the humor is grating - like all the other anons in this thread have mentioned, even the ones that liked it. Its also not endearing when every single element is treated as a joke.
>>221098920>they complain its silly, make a joke out of it, but then they say its coolcouldnt just skip that fucking part then? its even more dishonest than marvel because it wants the cake and eat it too.
>they still go to see mass produced IP flipswhy? how many decades of abuse do you need to undergo before you start making sane consumer decisions?
>>221098920Nayrt but I went into this movie expecting to enjoy it and even paid extra to see it in IMAX on opening weekend and for the most part I did enjoy it, but those jokes just weren't fucking funny and dragged it down. It's one thing to lightly poke fun at stuff but this was like "HAHAH Fisto that sounds like a gay sex thing!" "Ram-Man and Fisto, that's like...RAMMING AND FISTING!!!" and repeat it over and over in case any retards in the back didn't pick up on it the first 5 times. Just really low-effort and most of it got no reaction in my theater, while scenes like He-Man's first transformation and Skeletor getting his shit kicked in at the end got actual cheers. Needed to have like 70% less quips and less reliance on juvenile sex jokes and the remaining actually funny bits would land a lot harder.
>>221097741>Jared LetoTrash
>>221098116I’ve hated Leto since My So Called Life
How many times do we need to see that easter island dude cry to some romcom geez. That's another example of the humor in this movie. They show him doing that once and then instead of showing something else similar to that they just show it again. Not to mention that there's no reason for that dude to even be in the movie at all. They clearly copied the Barbie approach where everyone keeps babbling constantly and there's 57 side characters just clowning on everything no matter what is going on.I wasn't expecting some sincere and serious take on the IP, but everything has zero stakes and is just so incredibly unfunny.I want to see whatever movie Randor stepped out of because he was the only character in this with any kind of gravitas.
>>221097900>Adidas
>>221098827Brie looking fine as fuck
Why does Skeletor love Devon Custard so much brehs?
>>221097741Yeah
>>221098309>cult thing but if women want to go to a compound and worship youFrom what little I've read, it appears to be nothing more than a glorified yoga retreat with hippy uniforms. Definitely not my thing and kinda gay but it's innocuous. The I Hate Leto™ people have more definable cultish attributes than the "cult" they purport to hate. As for his acting, it's really no better or worse than 99% of most semi-successful actors.
>>221097741Why does he thirst after his own nephew?
>>221099881In this continuity, Skeletor isn't Adam's uncle. That could change in the sequel but most probably it'll never be made
>>221097741Based.Thats how you portray a villain>>221098116This got the capeshitting wodditors seething
>>221098920Go play with your gay dolls, faggot.
>>221100230They would totally do an "I am you Uncle" Star Wars parody.
>>221099322>They clearly copied the Barbie approachWell it was made by the same people with the intention of being Barbie for men.
>>221097741Has anyone here actually seen this yet? I need to know how cringe Leto's version of Skeletor is. Is it typical Leto cringe like Blade Runner 2049 or is it turbo cringe like his Suicide Squad Joker?
>>221101171Try reading the fucking thread, retard.
>>221101191No, spoon-feed me, bitch.
>>221098082>>221098520When are we going to cut the bullshit and admit any appearance of Skeletor is just fucking great, period.
>>221101171It's neither. His voice is so modulated and his face is so covered in cgi that it could be literally anyone. The fact that it's Leto could easily be lost if you weren't told. The character himself is pretty fun, one of the better aspects of the movie. Goofy yet still able to pose an actual threat, just like Skeletor is supposed to be. Don't feel the need to go out and see it if you aren't sure though, the movie is a solid "better then I expected" out of 10.
>>221097741totally fake, why on earth would there be a woman there
>>221101097Oh really I had NO idea
>Adam/He-Man drops his sword for the (n+1)th time>Teela tells Adam/He-Man what to do again, and again, and again, etc... removing all agency from the protagonist>Man-at-Arms is a rambling drunk guy haha>Fisting joke haha, fisting joke haha.... fisting joke haha>Skeletor scene lasts 4 seconds longer than necessary, again.... and again....and again>cgi explosions of cgi ships, objects, buildings, statues that nobody cares about whatsoeverAfter they go to Eternia the movie loses any kind of structure and shit just happens arbitrarily. It's like they didn't even bother coming up with a plot, just pasted set pieces together from some list of shit to put in the movie that they've seen in GotG and Thor movies. The movie had some semblance of direction during the Earth parts, but even then all the progress feels totally arbitrary.>I've been looking for my sword my whole life>some guy just txts him where it is>the cops got him for stealing the sword, Teela and Beastman just show up on an overpassThe best part has nothing to do with He-Man or MotU stuff, it's that obnoxious HR woman. I guess they felt super inspired to get that written right.
>>221101532It's weird that they would pay for Leto only to remove every recognizable trait. Why not save some money and hire some random dude?
>>221101739>Fisting joke haha, fisting joke haha.... fisting joke hahaThis happened in Project Hail Mary too wtf
>>221097741>throughHe was disappointingly underwhelming. I was hoping he would steal every scene he was in but he barely came off as more important than the side villains. They couldn't decide whether to make him so cartoonishly evil that you couldnt help but like him, or actually, genuinely imposing and threatening and abusive.
Just watched it.Why does the theme reminds me of Abba so much?

Why has Evil Lyn got blonde hair?
AI 100% wrote most of the jokes in this with very little editing or oversight and its both very obvious and embarrasing how much retards think its fine. Yum yum straight from the pigs anus yum yum youre just a hater, hysterical.
>>221098753that end fight was great, i audibly kek'd in the theater when Adam gay bowser'd skeletron
>>221097741no amount of "Leto is actually good in this!" astroturfing will make me watch a movie with that dude in it, please stop.
>>221098771On a conceptual level, I want to laugh at thisI want to laugh at the idea of Jared Leto playing a Skeletor who acts like the boss from Office SpaceBut I find I cannot
>>221098812>>221098827I think Alison Brie gave the most fun performance here, that kind of ham is delightuful. Kind of reminds me of Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy
