I hope they give Travis Knight a star wars movie, he is a good fit for it

One of the worst movies I've ever seen in theaters. I sat through the first 30 minutes and walked out (though I did movie hop to it).
I hate all capeshit and capeshit-adjacent movies made in the last 15 years so idk why I thought I might like this.

Sure, he doesn't look as impressive as Lundgren did, but tbf very few people can actually get his physique (or Arnie's).
A body suit+ complementary CGI might have been one viable option to consider.
>>
>>221115317
Does Skeletor die or just KO? I honestly can't tell, since his head is a skeleton.
>>
>>221115364
I agree. It wasn't a letdown or anything as I get why hard-core roiding for roles is frowned upon now. Maybe this actor can naturally gain more muscle over the course of shooting one or maybe even two more movies.
>>
>>221115412
He is reduced to only a head. Evil Lyn comes collecting his head in the post-post credits scene. As it ends you hear her and Skeletor’s laughter, a tease that they both will return.

I was really having a blast watching it too. I'm definitely going to watch it again with all my friends, and I have plenty of them too.

Men training full-time for six months minimum for a short shirtless scene vs women being asked to suck in her stomach.
>"Truthfully, I feel like I learned a lot about myself and how far I was willing to push myself and really suffering for it," Galitzine tells Entertainment Weekly of his training regimen, working with celebrity personal trainer David Kingsbury, who's also helped sculpt Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Hemsworth, and more. "And it took a really, really long time. It's really not for the faint of heart. This is something that you need to do full-time for six months minimum, but I'm really happy."

Worth it. It's good for the scene itself, good for the actor & his image, and overall good PR.

I was thinking the same thing, particularly in regards to the action sequences. That scene of Dian in the end going nuclear with the rifle and blasters felt like something that should've been in Solo or The Mandalorian. All of the action is so fast, unlike everything in Star Wars which feels like it needs to slow down to let the audience catch up.
You'd think after John Wick made bank they'd realize that when you shoot an action sequence, it needs to be fast and have tempo.

>>
>>221119814
Okay? I personally think it factored in well since it plays a part in Adam's initially turbulent relationship with the Heroes of Eternia, but by the end they embrace him and their names. I would agree that it would be strange if the sequel (never-ever) played the same joke, but it functioned well in this origin story to introduce the characters and tie in to the development.

You accusing me of being a chud is confusing to me. Chuds are complaining about it being woke and having race-swapping. My main complaint is that the Marvel style humor is both very dated and mostly doesn’t land. This movie should’ve been more sincere. I liked Idris just fine as Man-at-Arms (which the movie never even calls him).

I enjoyed it. I want this to be the only He-Man movie. I want them to make She-Ra and then be done with it. It was fun. He-Man doesn't make enough sense to examine in a multi-movie franchise. It's a campy ride and well done.

I think they made the right decision to channel Flash-Gordon and Thor: Ragnarok. It really benefitted from a rock opera score. Ten year olds won't notice that it is too-Queen-Forward.

This He-Man movie never forgot that He-Man is for kids despite the death.

My only peeve on the score is that it would have been better if it was more coherent. Near the end we get some of the theme we expect but there was none of it in the early movie. It had a nice score, but it just didn't have any unifying thread - the original theme music could maybe have tied it all together just sprinkled in as a hint ( I am not a music guy but with a 200 million dollar budget they could have hired one. ) Queen does work for this but Queen actually composed stuff for Flash Gordon. Why couldn't they have gotten some old Queen-Fan type musicians to do original music ( and it doesn't have to sound exactly like Queen )? I haven't seen any rock opera fantasy movie really hit the mark in a long time Thor: Ragnarok included. They approach but never commit.

The score really helped though. In a few places He-Man felt like Star Wars - IN A GOOD WAY. Not all the way through but in places and they were places where we heard the original music that was written for this movie.

All in all I give it a thumbs up, but I HOPE it's a one-off. It might be..

I have no nostalgia for MOTU, but saw this in IMAX. I thought it was great. It made me laugh and even get misty-eyed. The first transformation is fucking exhilarating, and the extended fight later in the film are all hyped up by a terrific sound track. You're undoubtedly going to get people saying it sucks because it is very Marvel-coded humor wise. But, the movie was entertaining.

Speaking as a 40 year old ancient millennial fuck, the movie is fun. All the shit the far right grifters are claiming is "woke" is just them being retarded like they always are.
Teela is fucking hot, He-Man is fucking hot, Leto as Skeletor is SOMEHOW the best fucking casting. Idris Elba is fucking great, and the score? The score is fucking pure CINEMA.

But then again I went into the movie not having listened to anyone and forming my own opinion, instead of letting some CosmicBookNews reject grifters tell me I should hate it because it's "too campy" or "too gay" or whatever the fuck.
I wanted to see a himbo beating the fuck out of a bitchy skeleton and that's exactly what I got.
