Where I wanted that scene to go was her not seeing anything and having to go back in to bed, facing the superstition, and playing with expectations. Would have been so much more tense to have a scene where she has to go back in after that ordeal and get back into bed. Then you could transition into a flashback of the boogeyman after that, which apparently was the original plan for the episode. But I don't hate the silly chase sequence, it just lost all tension and turned into a dumb little slasher vignette and I love slashers so its hard to be upset. It was just tonal whiplash
