I'm not sure how to even classify it but this is absolutely peak cinema. I guess capeshit? But it's totally unlike the normal capeshit affair.

It's just max comfy watching. You can watch both 1 and 2 at any time and relax. It's not braindead but it doesn't require a doctorate to follow along.

Why has Hollywood failed to recreate it since?
>>
>>221116373
Del taco only does Oscar bait now.
>>
I can’t laugh, and I can’t sing, finding it hard to do anything
>>
>>221116373
the new one is better
>>
>It's just max comfy watching
lol time to get your dosage cranked up
>it's totally unlike the normal capeshit affair.
it's like reasonably good capeshit
>Why has Hollywood failed to recreate it since
didn't they reboot this shit like twice since then
or do you mean what are the other tolerably good capeshit movies
>>
>>221116373
no
second movie was already fucking gay
>>
>>221116373
I like this one but I prefer the first. Maybe it's just nostalgia

The art direction and design are great
>>
>>221116373
This was Del Taco's last good movie
>>
Just reuse the blade II plot
>>
>>221116373
>Failed to recreate it sense
Comic book adaptations that ignore their cooler source material are a dime a dozen, kid
>>
I haven't seen either of the Hellboy reboots. Are they any good?
>>
>>221116666
dubs trips quads guy you have clearly been fingered by fate so I cannot call you a faggot
but respectfully I liked Frankenstein
>>
>>221116666
Wait until you see nightmare alley
>>
>>221116741
No, you’d be better off watching the cartoons.
>>
>>221116843
Hellboy cartoons?
>>
>>221116373
yah incredible movie. I would classify it as fantasy, not capeshit though
>>
>>221116666
the first pacific rim was good. if you didn't like it because you are a low t, likely homosexual as well and don't like man stuff like gundams and kaiju
>>
>>221116898
if I sucked your hard dick you wouldn't be so rude.
>>
>>221116741
first is dog shit, second one is decent but nowhere near this level
>>
>>221116911
wouldn't be rude while or after? I would certainly be a gentleman and let you finish
>>
>>221116898
that shit sucked, rajesh
>>
>>221116662
If you made sex to her would it be gay since her twin brother would also feel every inch of it as well?
>>
>>221116852
Yeah they’re pretty good. Original cast voices. Google “hellboy animated”, it says they are on tubi I’m sure you can torrent as well.
>>
>>221117068
Blood and iron and sword of storms.
>>
>>221116898
It wasn't a disaster but it could have been so much better
>>
>>221116741
I liked the most recent one but it looks incredibly cheap.
>>
>>221116741
The reboots are watchable if you really have an itch but I’d stop at the anime and golden army and pray del taco comes back for the finale after he pulls his head out of his ass.
>>
>>221116843
This had an introductory comic about young hellboy learning about the golden army it has that tiny bit of backstory
>>
There's something strangely melancholic about these films. They're monsters who suffered abandonment and all that, but beyond the plot, the atmosphere feels sad.
>>
Visually it's 10/10 but the writing is mid

>no pale, scarred, yellow-eyed elf gf
Why even live
>>
>>221117349
Absolutely. They remind me a bit of Burton's Batman movies.
>>
I love them both, it's a shame we never got a third. Love the German chick in the first also, she's gorgeous
>>
>>221116662
every one of his movies has those so at least even if the movie is shit it's really nice to look at
>>
>>221117840
Why are Nazis so cute?
>>
I missed Kroenen
>>
>>221116373
Why didn't the prince just commit sudoku at the beginning of the movie and save everyone the trouble if that was what she was going to do anyways?
>>
>>221116662
i could have fixed her
>>
>>221116373
>this is absolutely peak cinema
fuck no, it's very mediocre and often just grating.
>>221116673
yeah and blade ii blows. traitor wigger reedus is kind of fun i guess because it's so stupid. del toro is a hack who should never direct or write, but he's a fine production designer which is the only saving grace of any of the trash he's put out, but that cool art+his awful sensibilities=some uncanny bullshit that makes me feel ill in a way watching it. it's just not right
>>
>>221116373
It's awesome, glorious, dark fantasy superhero horror movie.
>>
>>221116666
Digits of irrefutable truth.
>>
>>221118982
because his bara troll bf was still alive
>>221116373
>this is absolutely peak cinema
no, it's a fine flick to spend an afternoon watching, but that's it, and that's coming from a hellboy fan and del toro fag
>I guess capeshit?
it's techinically capeshit since Hellboy is a superhero, despite what people may thing. The fantasy theme kind of distracts from that fact, since people have come to associate superheros with sci-fi, mainly
>But it's totally unlike the normal capeshit affair
the HB movies cape out before Disney had figured out their capeshit formula and made it the industry standard. The 2019 reboot tried to go by said formula and failed miserably, and not just because of the shitty CGI, racially motivated cast or edgy aesthetics
>>221116666
wasted digits
>>
>>221122490
>and that's coming from a hellboy fan and del toro fag
wanna rank his filmography? i've never seen someone identify as a bonafide del toro fag
>>
>>221122956
Devil's Backbone, still his best movie
Pan's Labyrinth
Pacific Rim
Pinocchio
Chronos
Hellboy 2

Crimson Peak and Shape of Water are basically at the same level, tho I liked Crimson Peak more; Hellboy would be more or less there, but it's different, an adaptation of an already existing franchise trying to follow an industry standard, while the former are personal projects after his own fixations
Frankenstein is alright, I expected something better. Mimic and Blade 2 are his weakest works, it feels like he just didn't truly applied himself to the job and they were just stuff he had to do in order to get into Hollywood
Now I realized I haven't watched Nightmare Alley yet. a sin i must atone for ASAP

Special mention for the Trollhunter series, which is pretty good all around but also one of the last animation series aimed at children that doesn't treat its audience as helpless retards that need cuddling at every turn
>>
>>221123208
thank you, i appreciate you took that seriously.
i haven't seen a lot of these in over a decade and i'm willing to revisit them. i do remember liking the devil's backbone quite a bit like 15 years ago but i forgot it existed until now. i'm gonna rewatch it
i just remembered when pacific rim came out i almost got stabbed by a druggie because i asked him if he saw it, he said "naw i saw the first one and it was shit, i won't watch the sequel" i was like wtf are you talking about, he says "it was called atlantic rim" then trying to explain the concept of the asylum is what got him to freak the fuck out on me and pull a knife. i guess it was that bad
>>
>>221123344
happy to help. also checked
> trying to explain the concept of the asylum is what got him to freak the fuck out on me
the asylum tends to have that effect on normal people. hope you didn't get hurt, anon
