Has a film ever changed your opinion, altered your stance, shifted your perspective, or made you reconsider a position or belief you once previously held?

The SAW film series made me against the death penalty and the killing of humans in general.

You don't believe school shooters, pedophiles, serial killers, or people actively trying to harm you or your kin deserve to die?

So this thread is just a platform for you to grandstand and high horse and it's not actually about powerful cinematic experiences?

No, this thread is just an excuse to post Kstew!

The movie Network made me realize that I was mad as hell and I wasn’t gonna take it anymore

>Heh, I'm going to build my house on the moral high ground built upon the bodies of people I killed to show people that killing people is wrong (except for me lol)

The simple truth is that you're a coward. You're no better than the barbarians you want to kill. The only real difference is they don't have to have a "just" reason for why they do it. They just do it.

You sound like a pedophile who hopes that when he finally gets caught he will be granted mercy because "killing is heckin' wrong guys amirite! btw jerking off to cp isn't actually wrong because I'm not hurting anyone lmao"

your time will come. sorry God decided you should be a pedophile. but he works in mysterious ways

This movie convinced me retards can be based.

I know this is probably just a thinly veiled KStew/Pothead thread but I'll give my two cents.

Watching Spotlight made me realize punishing individuals for these types of crimes isn't enough. The organizations that ignore the abuse need to be punished. I think Penn State should have been stripped of it's wins and even more. I used to think that was not a fair punishment for what Sandusky did.

Unironically Fight Club when I was 15.

They did strip Penn State of their wins, and kneecapped their football program for a decade afterwards. It was the biggest scandal in college sports history with the most fallout. They made movies about it. But then for some reason everybody just looks away when it’s any other college

Many Disney movies attempt to give the lesson of not judging people based on their appearances, like Beauty and the Beast or The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Yet the movie that finally made me reconsider this was "The Elephant Man" by David Lynch.

Did you join a fight club?
>>
>>221117203
>kids in my high school started a fight club
>it lasted two days when a kid came home with bruises and his mom made him tell her where it came from

School shooters deserve love and acceptance
Pedophiles deserve love (from children) and acceptance (from children)
Serial killers deserve a VR experience where they get to kill people from the safety of their home in Minecraft

Watching a movie has changed my opinion about that movie.

Which movie?

I wouldn't say any piece of media had a 'major' impact on me. Even though I think there's amazing films/books/games out there, real life events affect me way more than they could. That said,
>The Before Trilogy
I actually watched this right after an almost-Before experience. I had an internet penpal and went to the other side of the world to see her just a few months before I watched these movies. It was my first international trip ever, but things didn't work out with me and the girl. Watching these movies gave me a lot of bittersweet feelings and made me wish things really did work out. 8 years later, I took a trip to a different country where I met a woman while hiking. It was at the end of my trip and nothing sexual happened, but we hung out for most of the day and made vague promises to see each other again. I wasn't planning to go back for a long time but I decided impulsively to go back just two months later where we had a weeklong romance. It also, unfortunately, did not work out long term. But I felt like I really did have that Before experience that was bouncing around in my head for almost a decade.
>Manchester by the Sea
I don't know why, but this movie really connected with me. It got memed on by /tv/ a bit at release because of Casey Affleck's performance, but I ended up watching it at least 5 times. I really feel the struggle and the pain that Casey's character feels - also that coastal New England vibe. Despite living elsewhere, because of work travel and friends, I have spent a large amount of my life in coastal New England. Watching it always gives me a tinge of nostalgia.
