What the fuck was the point of an entire episode dedicated to Donna having a heart attack? That they still have normal problems? That not everyone can be saved? Jesus Christ, show us the fucking monsters or AT LEAST something paranormal. The monsters had a total 5 minutes of screen time this season. It's like the writers forgot they existed and wanted to write their shitty soap opera.

The show is mirroring the audience discovering the show like the townspeople discover the truth of the town and monsters. The show is also kind of meta about it. Like your point about Donna is just to tease her death since the audience has bonded with her. Like when she was nearly killed by the dolls in the same episode the kid says he likes having her around. It’s meta foreshadowing her death. Especially in the plot context of how her sister died. The fourth season has been majorly kino and it’s lined up to have more monster time at the end of the season. Plus there’s only one more season as far as I know so we should be getting to the good stuff. Also, rewatch it if you haven’t. I think the show is made to be rewatched. I’m doing that now and there are clues in the first season that are shown more in the latest season, I’m sure the other two seasons are as well.
