Member when they tried to laugh at Fatty James's shows while making a desconstruction of the sitcom genre only to be a big failure that nobody saw?
My friend mike mentioned seeing this, so I watched some of it. I think the alcohol has made mike dumber.
I hope I don't sound hyperbolic, but I want everyone involved in the production of this show to be executed in a firing squad.
>>221127904Why did she want to kill her husband again?
>>221127990>>221127993>>221127904You guys are a bunch of no pussyngetting haters. It was fucking great and it exemplified how out of touch sitcoms were.
>>221128023based on the TV trope of the overbearing bombastic sitcom husband and the underappreciated sitcom wife who has to live with him while having no agency of her own. Also, the wife was cheating on husband with the owner of the diner.
>>221128047This post gave me the ick.
>>221128047Getting mad at sitcom cliches from the 80s/early 90s that most of them barely appear in current sitcom is weird.
I liked the idea of having each vastly different perspective filmed in different ways. I just couldn’t stand the main character. It felt like she was never to blame for why her marriage sucked. Plus I hate it when a show has some pathetic simp trying to be Captain Save a Hoe. It also started to remind me of the shitty couples I know IRL mot much different than the one in the show. The idea probably looked good on paper though, I’m sure
>>221127904It's a show for women like all modern tv shows
>>221128023Because he was goofy and therefore annoying af and just wanted to have fun with his dad and BFF while watching football. Most women hate that shit by default. To me it felt like she was incapable of having fun and resented him for it. Also he was bad with money, but from what I remember so was she. It’s been a while since I’ve watched it
>>221127904>kevin can fuck himselfEh, all right, all right. Better yet, why not Kevin can get his friends and rape her broken.
>>221128206Its a thinking show, something you clearly have an aversion to. Recommended devs, station 11, utopia, and counterpart for some much needed mental stimulation.
>>221128047>You guys are a bunch of no pussyngetting haters. It was fucking great and it exemplified how out of touch sitcoms were.
>>221127904Reddit still talks about this show and tries acting like it was some cultural milestone and ratings juggernaut, all while complaining that no one irl or outside reddit ever mentions itno one mentions it because it was dour depressing dogshit
>>221127904Is this the one where the pitch is this is a sitcom from the perspective of the wife and when the family is there it turns into a happy go lucky sitcom and when she is alone in the house it turns into some sort of maudlin drama about a depressed housewife?
>>221128047>how out of touch sitcoms wereOh so is it kind of like a Schitt's Creek thing where it wins 500 awards but nobody ever talks about it ever? Yeah anon I don't know, seems like people really really want sitcoms that are "in-touch" which is why Kevin Can Go F**k Himself was a massive success.
>>221127904>>221128195>>221130490I haven’t tried watching this yet, but I did like the girl in Schitt’s Creek. I like the concept, but why am I so sure that it’ll devolve into pure “MEN BAD!” in the first few episodes? The buffoon husband trope was, itself, weird and sexist. Does it attack the trope or pretend it was based in reality and try to punish men for it?
I liked it but like Mike I drink a lot plus I think the girl is sex
I thought the chick was going to be a heroin addict going through withdrawals. That's my head canon and I don't remember anything else.
