The first and only time I saw Death Proof was on TV at 3am. I had missed the beginning, did know what the fuck was going on, and started the film when he kills his first (?)victim. When he says "you really wanna be in my seat" or whatever.
Was hooked, watched the rest of it and didn't even learn the title even later

Only real difference is that the beginning doesn't have the spoiler narration in the beginning and you hear Jennifer Connolly's actual singing voice in the directors cut. Everything else is minor.

The theatrical cut put the doctor on alien side since the beginning so at the end there's a plot twist. The director's cut simply omits the alien stuff 10 seconds into the movie, so you can discover it 10 minutes after but you know nothing about the doctor.
