wtf was the point of him, he added nothing to the plot or its dynamics, just an edgy and forced self insert
>>
He got to say it and that's important. We all have to say it sometimes.
>>
The whole situation introduces tension and raises the stakes, and we get introduced to the wolf because of it.
>>
>>221139360
The entire movie is sort of pointless, other than the scenes with Samuel L Jackson. There isn’t much in terms of theme, it’s all style over substance.
>>
The fact that the two cool guys are humiliated and have to bow down to Jimmy and later the Wolf. And they're completely out of place in Jimmy's suburban home. Subverting their image to us. That's the point.

That completely informs Jules's final speech in the diner, and you need a smarmy motherfucker civilian to humble Jules and Vince for that to happen. And at the same time we see Vince refusing to be humbled, and he pays the price for it against Butch.
>>
>>221139360
Paul Dano would have been much better in that role.
>>
>>221139360
He was an important character but Tarantino should’ve gotten a real actor to do it, he sticks out like a sore thumb in this movie with an otherwise A plus cast
>>
>>221139360
literally wrote himself a pass lmao
>>
It was supposed to be steve buscemi

OH NOES
>>
People were saying the N word before cameras were even invented. They didn’t learn it from any movie.
>>
>>221139713
it would've worked so much better
>>
>>221139804
Most of the people that were saying it back then probably couldn’t even read or write.
>>
what purpose did he serve in django
>>
>>221139360
You need a speaking role in a movie to get into the Screen Actors Guild.

There's nothing in there about needing to say the nigger word, Tarantino just insisted and Samuel L. Jackson just had to stand there and fucking take it.

Did you miss the name of the movie? A pulp fiction is a cheaply produced, throw away story. It's meant to be mindless entertainment while riding the bus or waiting at the DMV.
>>
>>221139360
The scene wasn't even written for him, it was written for Steve Buscemi who couldn't commit and settled for a cameo as a waiter instead.
>>
>>221139360
>wtf was the point of him
To give the characters a safe house for their issue whilst still presenting a problem to be solved
>>
>>221140545
Tarantino originally intended to play Lance. Thank fuck that went to Eric Stoltz instead. He would've ruined that scene and it's probably the best in the film.
>>
>>221140571
Kurt Cobain was the first offered to play Lance but immediately declined the role.
>>
>>221140614
Courtney Love just made that up. Tarantino later confirmed he never met Cobain or offered him anything.
>>
>>221140614
not true, tarantino denies this ever happened. courtney made it up later. people believe it because tarantino is thanked in the liner notes for in utero, but this is because they watched reservoir dogs on the tour bus
>>
>>221140637
>>221140660
Interesting. I never knew
>>
>>221139360
Who was this little dipshit anyway who was allowed to say the N word in front of hardass gangsta Jules?
>>
>>221140753
Tarantino later implied that he was a guy who used to work with Jules, but quit, despite seeming to not know who Marcellus Wallace is
>>
His absolute worst cameo:

>>221140753
Also, saying nigger wasn't an instant chimp-out excuse for nogs in the 1990s like it is today.
>>
>>221140797
Tarantino's segment is the only good part of that shit movie
>>
>>221140813
This. The whole movie is a slog until you get to it.

Remember when he showed up on Alias?
>>
>just an edgy and forced self insert
thats the whole point
he wanted to be in the movie and say some racist shit
>>
>>221139604
So, like all of his work?
>>
>>221139360
he's just aping someone far more based than himself
>>
>>221139360
There are, and will continue to be, plenty of films that have characters saying the nigger word. But "dead nigger storage" is uniquely Quentin's and no one can take it from him
>>
>>221139360
Fun-fact: that's Quentin Tarantino, the director of the film!

I think he knew he was going to be a big deal and he was kind of announcing himself to the world. Everyone wanted to work with him after Reservoir Dogs and his screenplays were the hot ticket. I remember he was just everywhere for over a year.

i read this in trumps cadence

"somtimes we say it... its good!"

This is actually the answer, unironically.

>be QT
>make RD
>a bunch of low rent white gangsters say nigger because that's how they talk
>Jew critics chimp out
>doubles down for PF (irrelevant that Buscemi was initially considered for role and in fact works better for QT as something of self-insert)
>superficially, it's senseless that some middle-class square married to a black nurse would have such friends and talk like that
>but as a fuck you to Jew critics, it's brilliant
>IT'S MY MOVIE NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER

I'm surprised people find it hard to grasp.

>>221139682
ha ha pseud no
>>
>>221143364
No, its funny retard. im not making a value statement about trump. the wording just reminded me of his speaking cadence.
>>
>>221143533
Yeah your mind defaulted to trump. mindbroken.
>>
>>221143541
Well it was specifically the zack hadel impression i was thinking of when i read it. Like when he was doing the linkara bit as trump but instead of "we like that, its good" i was thinking about him talking about the n word.

it was pretty funny in my head
>>
>writers the script
>makes jimmy say the nigger word
>danny devito sends him a hot meal of a budget
>starts trying out actors for his movie
>hires a jimmy explicitly to call in a bomb threat on his wife the morning of filming
>has no recourse but to play jimmy
he's a master
>>
>>221140979
he directed multiple episodes
>>
>>221139411
>clean the car
>drive it to a friendly junk yard
the wolf is a fraud or julian is a retard.
>>
>>221139735
>"my clown pocket"
>>
>>221143479
>>221139360
It also creates this really funny character who is an simp hiding his criminal past from his black wife, who vents petty racial rage at his still criminal coworkers for being fuck ups (while his ass is this close to losing everything for being caught by his wife)
>>
>>221139792
Butthole status: gaped
>>
>>221139360
This and the Rednecks raping Marsellus were just Tarantino demonstrating his fetishes in his movies again
Same as feet rub/lick scenes
