The point of the story is that young men are NOT permitted to fall in love with “the perfect woman” AND stay in a monogamous relationship.Her character is actually a devil, like Mrs. Robinson in the Graduate. He would have been happier if he found a more traditional lady. This movie was meant to empower women’s choice. But it really seems to show that some ladies are not what they seem.

But I also want to say Summer was a terrible gf and does give mixed signals from time to time, which is double weird considering she was engaged with her new bf at the time.
