It tells you that the film is about Garfield. You know what to expect instantly. A decision can be rendered.

You have to remember the IP managed to stay relevant for almost 4 decades because Lucas only released Phantom Menace 16 years after Return of the Jedi. Between that timeframe the franchise was still popular with its video game releases and action figures. It wasn't like they were releasing a Star Wars TV show every other year. Even after the prequels they still only made one or two shows about it which were actually popularDisney thought they could release movie after movie and show after show with its popularity never waning. Use the next few anniversaries to re-release the unaltered original trilogy back in theaters to gain back some good will. Covertly fund a few content creators to give the seqeuls a glow up. While you do that get a set of writers and a director who all have an appreciation for the film series and have them come up with a new trilogy from the ground up completely seperate from the Skywalker saga like something thousands of years prior or after. Release a teaser after years without new Star Wars content and drum up excitement and merchandising like the phantom menace did in 1999. Set up the first film as something that can be a standalone movie and if it actually succeeds move through with your planned Trilogy.
