It's not like articles/shills aren't bought and paid by studios, eh.

If you haven't secured your imax seats I feel sorry for you

I teach teens sometimes, and whenever I ask them their favorite movie, 50% of the time it's Interstellar.

If zoomers make this type of movie a thing I’m officially writing them off as a generation
>>

>this type of movie

High-budget epics from acclaimed directors?
>>

I write them off every day with my fists.
They go down like bowling pins.
Don't wait too long or they'll get to our age and bash us instead. Get stomping now to ensure zoom zooms remain placid and weak.

weird, I just checked on a few cinemas near me and there are loads of seats available. Must be somewhere else people are clamouring to see it.

If he had simply stopped at Travis Scott this movie would have made a billion dollars but then he had to keep going and going and now it will probably make just half that.

Bad movie by meme directors with a budget
>>
>>221159931
And you care about le IMAX beacuse....?
>>
>>221161128
it really is though

I don't give a fuck about skin color or "historical accuracy" about a fictional story

it's a story. the actors are depicting characters from a story. their appearance and skin color hold no weight as to whether or not they're performing the role well

my problem with the cast is, I'm fucking tired of all of these actors in god damn everything. I'm sure it wasn't a merit-based casting. just overbloated A list shit
>>
Still plenty of seats available on opening day at my kinoplex. This sounds like marketing lies trying to push an artificial scarcity narrative. Bravo Nolan!
>>
>>221161771
All wrong.
A story isn't separable from visual canon. Especially something based in existing culture.

if your cast is whatever it's no different from writing being whatever, except even more immediate to see. On top of being political.

>we have bots waiting in line to buy tickets so it looks like people care about this slop

This. Fake as fuck bullshit. It will do good opening week numbers because of the nolan cock suckers, but thats it.

I hope a bunch of incel chuds start shooting up theaters while this is running.
>>
>>221159869
That's nolans hardcore fanbase rushing to get tickets, let's see if it translates into more casual viewers turning up
>>
This is the vidya equivalent of "fastest selling". I mean vidya has pre-orders too but you get my point. It's artificially induced hype by desperate executives. The real indicator is what happens after the first weekend

a god is a literal divine being. what difference does it make if Athena is portrayed by Zendaya or Tracy Spiridakos?

Everything in the movie down to the tables and chairs need to serve the story. Whether its background worldbuilding or casting or set design and costumes. Anything else added that doesn't serve the story in some way is a net negative.

Adding out of place and jarring race swaps doesn't serve the story it serves something else, clearly, unless you are a retard or a gaslighting faggot it is obvious it serves something else besides the story. Which is why it comes off as a net negative. This is something that wokes will never understand.
>>
>>221159869
Nolan fags are 10/10 voters. Look at the IMDB rankings of top 250 movies. Whatever metric allows sperg voting will be the one they cite as proof of quality.
>>
>>221159869
I preordered 12 tickets so my wife, her son and I could see it four times. I'm such a cinephile.

Because one fits setting, cultural context and expectation, meanwhile the other is no different form an anime robot with a loli pilot popping on screen.

Everything about the trailer and casting is terrible, and a director who's made 1-2 decent films. anon's comments is justified.
>>
>>221161771
>has problems with cast, but isn't a le chud
>it's only chuds who have a problem with this movie
anon was right, you're dumb. Also, the actors' appearances do "hold weight" regardless of how racist you aren't.
Nolan's gonna make a lot of money, again, from the peasant-plebs.
>>
>>221161878
t. athiest
>>
>>221159869
Nobody thought it would flop. Nolan is the "hottest" director in Hollywood right now, everything he churns out will make money like crazy.

But some people think this will be the first movie where a lot of people will say "hey, it wasn't a good movie."
>>
>>221159999
Wasted digits
>>
>>221162792
Yep, "Nolan" is the product, not whatever he puts on screen. Cattle audience just participate to the "recognizable brand event", and that's not the Odyssey

/tv/ also thought barbie would flop or have a gigantic decline in its 2nd week. That never happened.

That being said, I'm still not gonna watch this movie. Woke trash alongside Obsession. Miss me with that shit. I have a bunch of old movies I can watch too. No point in watching slop that wasn't made for me.
>>
>>221159869
Good for Nolan. I won't watch it btw.

>>
>>221159970
Nta, but why do you keep and follow random youtubers that you clearly hate? That's just sad. I don't care about any of this shit, but amc tried to pull the same stunt with supergirl. Stay vigilant and don't fall for cheap marketing.
>>
>>221162737
actually you're retarded because I literally stated why I had a problem with the cast and it had nothing to do with their skin color

chuds don't understand art. they don't understand depictions and interpretations. film is a form of art. this is Nolan's artistic expression. if you don't like it, don't watch it. simple as.
>>
>>221163318
Nta, but my father saw the cast and laughed. I disagree about skin and race not mattering. The genetic makeup of what you're trying to portray is very important. It's like trying to capture the korean reclamation war and the whole cast is made up of africans and indians.
>>
>>221159869
zoomies just have the worst taste... Somehow the previous generation just trained them all wrong, as a joke.
>>
>>221163318
Bad casting is not art
political casting is not an interpretation
if you don't want the source material as it is, don't adapt it, you unfuckable moron
>>
>>221162333
what do tables and chairs have to do with race
>>
Maybe it'll flop and maybe it won't. Either way it doesn't matter. Tickets sold means absolutely nothing anymore. Culturally this will have no impact, same as every other movie, because film is a dead medium. If it makes the most money any Nolan movie has ever made, it will still be forgotten in less than a month. Its future will be to live on as a decontextualized meme on some gay website full of retards, like this one.
>>
>>221162792
>But some people think this will be the first movie where a lot of people will say "hey, it wasn't a good movie."
the first? Haven't people thought that about TDKR and Tenet? Haven't seen Tenet, but I'm sure it's not good, as most Nolanslop isn't. I'm sure Odyssey will be shit, but I can see it easily liked by 80% of critics and viewers.

I work with a greek zoomer from athens and he was furious about the casting choices especially the blacks. is he just a racist chud that will not be missed?
>>
>>221160476
A shitty website can't handle all the Nolanbros cramming in for tickets.
That is not indicative of general interest.
>>
>>221163318
>it had nothing to do with their skin color
You are woke and your opinion is fake
>>221163493
It's won't flop because normies are there for hte Nolan event, not for what's on the screen.
I'm happy that it will make significantly less that what they expected.
if it makes 1b, it means that wokeness did cost them 500 millions, so to speak. Or 400 or 200. Whatever

Without the Nolan brand slapped on it would bomb worse than that woke He-Man pos
>>
>>221163449
zoomers take our memes seriously even though they were developed by our generation's wierdos and social outcasts having a laugh. for example, looksmaxing and mogging are an uniornic emodiment of /fit/ jokes
>>
>>221163527
Everyone around the world is a chud, unless they agree with some american libshit politics of the week. Didn't you get the memo?
>>
>>221163574
No, I asked to be removed from the CURRENT THING mailing list.
>>
>>221163318
>actors' appearance hold no weight in a film
Nope, other anons were right. Everything in a film has to serve the story, including what the actors look like. Maybe in the next thread there will be plebeians who agree with you ideas.
>>
>>221163553
but I literally said it had nothing to do with their skin color. I was asking why you retards are seething about who they cast for the role of a fictional character, and why it's something as arbitrary as skin color
>>
>>221159869
Los Angeles passed some anti-scalping law so now scalpers are buying movie tickets and planning to resell them at 3000x's their market value.

It's not going to work.
