Cool story bro

The real technicality is that he cannot be killed by those who believe they cannot kill him. So he just said no man can kill him and did his part to look intimidating to pull it off.

The dagger that wasn't explained in the movie is what made him vulnerable

The movie has some deep lore.
In reality, a dimension hopping NoMan wa in the scene wearing his invisibility cape. As and android, he wasn't of the race of men. He's the one who killed him while invisible and let the woman take the glory of the kill because as a Thunder Agent, he couldn't let it know that he was interfering in the affairs of another realm.

Makes sense to me. Tolkien really was a master of his craft.

The actual reason is that in Macbeth, there's a prophecy that no man born of a woman can kill Macbeth. When Tolkien read this, he thought that Macbeth would be killed by a woman. In the actual story though, Macbeth was killed by someone cut from his mothers belly, so technically not "born of a woman". Tolkien thought this sucked and preferred his version, so he wrote it into LOTR.
