Even the people trying to help him were basically stopped by society from doing so. He went off the deep end and society made a 'hero' out of him, but it was a lie, they were just using him on both sides to get what they wanted. He kept being abused and put down. Then he finally could say that he was just Arthur. But society 'killed' him to replace him with a 'Joker' that was more like the one they wanted. Almost nobody cared about Arthur, not his 'fans', not Harley, and the ones who did couldn't help him.It's not a feel good capeshit movie, it's more of a character study (Arthur and Us/Society) with a slight capeshit coat of paint.I think the movie would have been better served by using an expy of Joker instead of a being a DC movie. Could have been called Tears of a Clown or something.
