>A masked cyberterrorist, reminiscent of the Joker, plots to dismantle the global economy and the powerful figures who sustain it. Elizabeth Olsen plays an FBI agent who has an experimental idea to figure out who it is, and needs retired veteran Julia Roberts’ expertise for help. Eddie Redmayne portrays an imprisoned, Hannibal–like hacker who possesses crucial insight that Olsen and Roberts rely on to uncover the masked criminal’s identity and predict his next moves. They communicate with him via a screen, as he remains confined in a high-security U.S. prison.

So it's The Silence of the Lambs with computers.

let me guess, the real villain will either be a white conservative or a corporation, and definitely not the surveillance state, the government, or any other sort of legal authority figure (unless it’s a corrupt government official working for the real villain, as stated above)
ooo what an edgy, rebellious, subversive filmmaker this guy is.

like you said, the end of the show was an asspull, but in the beginning it was about hackers vs Evil Corp. they introduced an fbi agent in like season 3 or something and of course she was a morally incorruptible lesbian because the government is never evil and all government bureaucrats are saints in sam email’s world, and in pretty much every hollywood production for that matter.

I can tell you the twist because i worked on that movie. "They communicate with him via a screen, as he remains confined in a high-security U.S. prison." that part is bullshit They are not communicating with the guy in prison. They are really communicating with the cyberterrorist who uses deepfake to pretend to be the prison guy i really don't know how it ends tho

isn't this the plot of Mr. Robot season 2? wtf is wrong with Esmail?

Julia Roberts hasn't aged in 40 years

>no actor announced for the cyberterrorist
So it's either one of these 3 jokers, or it's a cameo like Rami Malek.
What are our bets?

Still plenty of options for be playing the cyberterrorist.
