this was one of the shittest horror films i've seen in the last decade
>>
I liked it
>>
>>221167439
you have bad taste in horror films
>>
>>221167422
It was entertaining horrorslop
>>
>>221167422
Disappointing, to be sure
But it did point me in the direction of finding History of the Occult, so there's that anyway
>>
this was amazing i fucking love found footage movies they should make more almost all movies being made should be found footage fuck i love that shit
>>
>>221167422
i enjoyed it immensely
>>
>>221167422
>>221167486
It's great, the fact that you're so hung up on "horror" is a red flag.
>>
Serious question, how hard would it have been to dig some old tape reel cameras out of storage and at least film the segments that were supposed to be shot on camera with those instead of using a shitty "analog" filter over hi def digital footage?
>>
>>221167672
That's not a serious question.
>>
>>221167422
Switching between mockumentary and normal drama filming was bad. Should have stuck with one style.

The performances were good and I love the retro late-night aesthetic, but the overall direction was awful. The found-footage aspect didnt make sense, and by the end of the movie, they just completely abandoned it.
>>
>>221167672
Serious answer. It would have increased the budget and time needed to develop and edit the film
>>
>>221167422
Found footage gimmick that even the movie didn't believe in. If they wanted to make it psychological then don't go all in on magic nonsense. People were apparently fooled by the presentation and thought it was "smart" somehow, when it's just a shitty presentation of a bog standard horror scenario.
You could trim this to 35-40 minutes and have a solid Twilight Zone episode.
>>
>>221168170
backrooms, obsession, weapons, and barbarian are all twilight zone episodes stretched into 2 hour movies
>>
As a society we require more found footage.
>>
>>221168192
Weapons doesn't belong on that list.
>>
>>221167672
>>221168098
Have you ever actually handled celluloid? It's not easy and it's not quick.
>>
Recommend good found footage
>>
I could not believe how bad it was. I will never forgive you /tv/
>>
>>221167422
a classic in my book
>>
>>221167422
I wanted to like it because the concept seemed interesting, but I turned it off about halfway through. I'll give it another chance some day.
>>
>>221167486
Nah it’s actually better than average.
>>
>>221167422
It's australian so i skipped it. (Modern) aussie movies are terrible.

t. australian.
>>
>>221167422
Would have been a lot better if they dropped the behind the scenes parts and fully committed to this being a taping of a late night show gone wrong.
>>
>>221167422
yeah, it was garbage. if you liked it I assume you haven't seen many movies
>>
>>221167609
> genre: horror
> horror: optional
yeah, no.
>>
>>221170660
I liked it and I've seen every movie
>>
modern audience humor is just pulling a shymamamalamadingdong.

a long, droning mess ending on some stupid, predictable, or stupidly predictable twist.
>>
>>221170640
That already exists.
>>
>>221167439
Me too. And it's one of these films you enjoy even more in the second watch, when you can catch all the little details

This shit sucked ass.
>>
>>221167422

I thought it was quite clever.
>>
>>221167422
It was okay but the "found footage" part really didn't work.
I like the main actor though.
>>
>>221168170
I'm convinced that late night with the devil was supposed to be a wrap-around segment for a V/H/S but they thought it was good enough to be its own thing, but you're right it was just not long enough.
>>
>>221167422
The lead actor carries it on his back.
>>
>>221170960
The possessed girl also did a good job
Don't know if she's been in anything else since then

I liked it and my girlfriend liked it, it was also our first theater date. I dont get people complaining about the back and forth found footage and I generally hate found footage, I think it works fine.
>>221170960
His performance really does sell it, would probably be a lot worse without him
>>
>>221167422
it was great stop complaining
>>
>>221170660
What movies should I have seen before this to consider it garbage?
>>
It was good, the only thing I would change would be the vfx electricity sequence at the end
>>
Was it supposed to be a horror movie or was it supposed to be some kind of social commentary satire thing?
>>
>>221167422
I was genuinely afraid that I was going to be cursed and almost turned my tv off while watching it
