When did South Park stop being funny?

'99

Not sure. But I can pinpoint the episode they jumped the shark. s15e8 "Ass Burgers"

The Trump stuff was funny when the introduced it if not just for the fun homage to the old Sadam episodes
>>
When I turned 14
>>
I remember reading they hated the first three seasons of the show which made me sad because I loved when it wasn’t a constant commentary on whatever was going on in that moment in society. You see the ones that people love are like the one where Stan’s Dad gets in constant fights at the baseball games, has nothing to do with anything. Just a funny story.
>>
When they started making the whole episode in one week. After that it was all references and reusing the same joke 10 times per episode.
>>
Three or four years after the movie when they ran out of fun adventure plots and started relying on "pop issue of the week" plots that ensured the episodes were dated by the time they aired.
>>
When they put twitter style hashtags in the episode titles in like 2014

3 seconds into episode 1

somewhere around S17-20.. probably about the same time that Trey married a black girl

When Seth came around and started mogging them in funny week after week

This. Was good as a one-off meme character but the fact they kept him around got old real quick
>>
It was somewhere around the member berries, PC Principal era and allowing Randy to become the central character. There was a cultural shift happening that Trey and Matt couldn't account for and reality became too surreal for them to parody once Trump got into office. After "You're Getting Older Now", they officially tapped out and allowed the show to be taken over by younger writers with them in the background guiding it along without fully immersing themselves into it and as a result, they've softened their edge because they want into the upper echelons of Hollywood after being on the periphery of it for so long.
>>
>>221168265
It didn't.
>>
Never stopped. You're just a fragile cuck
>>
Japanese Toilet is the last great South Park episode. It was all downhill from there.
>>
>>221168665
why are those younger writers not getting any credit?

>tapped out and allowed the show to be taken over by younger writers with them in the background guiding it along without fully immersing themselves into it a
if that was true then why did randy become the main character? younger writers would have focused on the boys so they were definitely still leading

>they want into the upper echelons of Hollywood after being on the periphery of it for so long
For what purpose? All that grants you is legal immunity toward being a degenerate.

>the one where Stan’s Dad gets in constant fights at the baseball games
The kids begging him to get up and keep fighting the Denver dad because they realize it'll get them DQ'd is one of the funniest scenes in the entire show

PC Principal.
It was kinda funny at first, but then they kept going with their serialization and "strong woman" and the "PC babies." It was a joke that they beat like a dead horse. Something they keep fucking doing

For me it was him hallucinating Sharon cheering him on.

I'd say around season 11.

It hasn't. It's still pretty funny.

They went on a GOATed run from S5 to 16 or so. Their experiments with serialization is where I realized episodes were starting to be good for a laugh an episode at best (those the troll trace season had some good ones).

This

I actually just rewatched the entire show from episode 1 in a marathon, and while it's not as good past golden age generally there's really no drop off.
