Are these movies considered slop?
>>
>>221173880
To everyone but bongs, it's like Peep Show or Doctor Who where they delude themselves into thinking that everyone loves it when literally no one outside their shitty country cares about it. Bond fucking sucks, bongs are insufferable retarded pieces of shit.
>>
The Connery, Brosnan and two Dalton films are the only Bond movies worth consuming
>>
>>221173880
>Are these movies considered slop?
yes, even though they shouldn't be
>>
>>221173880
well they did pump out like 30 of the fucking things
I still like them though, I used to watch them as a kid
>>
>>221173936
Accurate
>>
>>221173880
No anon they're not slop, they're fun. But I can see your confusion, wanting to make sure you get everyones approval before liking something for yourself
>>
>>221173936
Yes. And the books
>>
>>221174049
>octopussy
the sloppiest of them all.
>muh female assassin island
>muh clown disguise
>muh plane fight
>muh train fight
And yes. Its also fun. I can see how an insecure person such as yourself could think you can't enjoy both
>>
>>221173936
Lazenby is somewhat integral due to the marriage plot.
And I like the 3 Craig films. Hell, I'd even say Spectre is good too. No Tine to Die was trash though.
>>
>>221173880
Roger Moore era sucks. Goofy Bond is worst Bond.
>>
>>221173880
kino of the highest order
>>
This guy is a mary sue in these movies.
>>
>>221173880
>James Bond
>slop
/tv/ has fallen
>>
>>221174136
You retards just apply the word "slop" to anything these days
>>
Yes when there is a lot of something (a franchise) and each iteration gets more absurd and the fans are fucking faggots they tend to get the slop label.
There's no way you consider 007 to be kino of the highest order but you spurn the MCU. I'm not saying they're the same quality but they are both slop franchises and thats okay.
>>
>>221173880
Most of them are slop but that’s ok because they usually have memorable plots and villains
>>
>>221173880
For Your Eyes Only, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, Man With The Golden Gun, A View To A Kill, Octopussy are all absolute kino.

Now hang on... are you implying the Moore movies are slop? What a steaming hot take
>>
>>221173936
Most of the Moore films are great. You got filtered.
>>
slop implies low effort, high cgi
that only started with die another day
>>
>For the opening sequence [of Octopussy] before the credits, I tried to sell the TT motor-cycle race. It is one of the great sporting spectacles, the world has never had the chance to see it, and it was made for a duel-to-the-death sidecar race between Bond and a heavy. The sidecars in those days were simply flat boards to which the passenger clung as the bikes hurtled along at sickening speeds, and for passengers we would have two Bond dollies, heroine and villainess, built on the lines of the gorgeous Swedish and German girls who used to prowl the TT in their black leathers, looking like blonde Emma Peels. It would have made a terrific sequence, but it never got to the consideration stage, for it could only have been filmed during the actual races, when the island is awash with bikes and riders – and that happens in June, while we were in autumn, and couldn’t hang about.
>The other thing that didn’t happen was a scene in which Bond, frantic to get change for the phone at a critical moment, would accost a passer-by … cut to Close Shot of Gert Froebe saying: “Sorry, I have only gold.” Oh, well, it was an idea; you can’t win them all.
>>
>>221173880
why is it called octopussy? is there pussy in the film?
>>
>>221174768
There's a woman with eight of them.
>>
>>221173936
>>221173880
some of the connery films are legit slop and there are like 1.5 good Brosnan films and then a lot of the other ones are slop. Like Dr. No is good, by you only by you only live twice and diamonds are forever it was just repetitive slop. It was getting repetitive by like Goldfinger and Thunderball. It's not really shocking Connery said fuck it after you only live twice and stopped doing them. I think Goldfinger gets so much praise because it's different from the other early films since Bond spends like 60% of the plot a prisoner
>>
>>221174232
Connery literally quit because he thought the films had become repetitive slop
>>
>>221173912
This, its like america and country music. Shit so god awful the only stuff that exists outside of america is parody
>>
>>221174807
IMAGINE
>>
>from 1962 to 1996 we had 18 mostly iconic movies and Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan
>from 1996 to 2026 we had 8 movies. most of them unbelievably shit starring a blonde midget who hates the role
theyve done their best to kill this franchise and I cant see it getting better with amazon in control
>>
>>221174927
Don't worry. Henry Caville will save the series
>>
>>221174232
90% of James Bond movies are slop, yeah. This is common knowledge
>>
>>221174768
A guy gets killed by an octopus
>>
>>221174875
>>221174862
He would then go on to do a remake of a previous Bond movie the same year Octopussy came out. So honestly I don't want to hear it.
>>
>>221174927
>>221175294
Cause half of the classic Bond movies (and books) are travelogues with like a
>scene where Bond uses a jetpack
>Bond goes to location
>shows all the cool buildings in tokyo
>chase
>20 min scene of gypsies fighting
>climax is is like 20 mins of 400 guys fighting under water that would be cgi sloppa now
It's like a different kind of film that got killed by cgi, jewtube and cable tv
>>
>>221173880
Slop, Kinoslop.
>>
>>221174136
>muh train fight
I was about to say "anything with a train fight in it is kino, that's the rule" but then I remembered Spectre has a train fight in it and that movie's fucking dogshit.
I think I need to rethink this.
>>
>>221173912
I liked peep show...
>>
>>221173880
The Moore era was pure cheese kino and gave us some of the most memorable villains of the franchise.
>>
>>221174154
All Bond movies prior to Craig's were very campy. That's why Craig movies became such a huge thing like how Nolan's Batman received so much praise. I'm not saying that's a good thing but that was your average joe's opinion.
>>
>>221173880
Yes.
>>
>>221175819
Its Slop but its shaken not stirred.
>>
>>221174245
Words lost meaning. Slop. Based. Kino. Just words that get thrown around.
>>
>>221173880
Most Bond movies are slop.
MI suppressed them as the best Spy movie franchise longtime ago.
>>
>>221173880
I've never seen this movie. Is it actually about octopus pussy? If not then why the fuck is it called that?
>>
>>221174927
>put woman in charge
>immediately casts her crush so she can sugar mommy him, movies be damned
>>
>>221176885
Wait until you find out about Pussy Galore
>>
>>221173912
Roger Moore's bond movies and Peep Show are fucking awesome.

t. not british.
>>
>>221174232
"slop", "kino", "masterpiece" and "pretentious" have no meaning here.
>>
>>221173912
I used to think this but absolutely irredeemable crap like Doctor Who and Harry Potter are bigger in the US and Europe than they ever were in the UK. Yanks are fucking obsessed with the UK it's unreal, whether it's crushing on brit waifus or making foodie vids or watching football chimp outs.
>>
>>221173880
>You gonna love octopussy and you will be happy!
>>
>>221173880
The franchise has 25 movies, but I'd say only about 5 of them are properly good.
>>
>>221173880
If you watch them all in order then yes. If you just watch a bond movie now and then inbetween watching other stuff then nah. There are seven Roger Moore Bond movies and I really didn't care for For Your Eyes Only or Octopussy.

>>
>>221173912
British people have been calling Doctor Who shit for longer than you have known what it is.
>>
60s to 80s Bond is extremely goofy. There's a few decent ones, but Goldeneye is the first one to feel like a properly good action movie.
>>
>>221173912
I'm a bong and dislike Doctor Who. I remember watching a Sylvester McCoy episode as a kid and that was enough for me to never watch another showing ever again. Peep Show is fuckin' shite, too. Octopussy, however, is class; and anyone who believes otherwise is a massive queer.
>>
>>221175294
More like BOMB the series

I played the recent 007 videogame and that got me in a mood for some modern bond so i decided to rewatch Daniel Craig's run
I thought there were 4 movies but they are actually 5 wtf, i guess 4th and 5th sort of mixed in my memory.
Worth noting the massive downgrade from Casino Royale to Quantum of Solace. Then Skyfall is a small uptick and the 2 last movies are unapologetic garbage.
Thanks for reading my blog.
>>
They've always openly been lowest common denominator trash. Yet technically innovative and there's good setpieces and memorable characters so one minds having them on the background even though no one remembers what happened in which movie. But objectively as movies they range from terrible to relatively good.

>the massive downgrade from Casino Royale
Casino Royale is 20 (twenty) years old....
Eva Green was 24 when it was being filmed
I think i get why Bond just wanted to set down with Vesper
>>
The spy car duel in Die Another Day was awesome. I hope in a future movie the car gets it's own rival again.

>>
>>221173880
maybe a few fall that low but most are fine. the moore bonds especially benefit from getting a little deeper into some other 70s action or comedy that's just not as good. whatever you think his worst is there's plenty to make it look better in terms of the basic acting and writing. it's closer to calling whole genres or the medium slop than bond itself is a low point.
>>
>>221173880
Considering Temple of Doom is one giant ripoff of octopussy im saying its at least better than that
>>
>>221173936
Absolutely not

1. Goldfinger
2. Casino Royale
3. Goldeneye
---------
9001. EVERY OTHER BOND FILM IN EXISTENCE
>>
>>221173880
I like Octopussy

>Connery
Great: Dr No, From Russia with Love, Gold Finger, Thunderbolt
Mediocre:You only Live Twice
Bad: Diamonds are forever

>Lazenby
Great:OHMSS

>Moore:
Great: View to A Kill
Good: Spy Who Loved Me, Octopussy
Mediocre:Golden Gun, Live and Let Die
Bad: Moonraker

>Dalton
Great:Living Daylights
Good:License to Kill

>Brosnan
Great: Golden Eye, World is not Enough
Good: Tomorrow Never Dies
Mediocre: Die Another Day

>Craig
Great:Casino Royale
Good:Skyfall
Mediocre:Quantum of Solace
Bad:Spectre
To go further beyond:No Time to Die

All the bonds have good and bad takes, Connery has the best track record overall (Not counting Lazenby just because he only did one). Brosnan is himself the best bond. Moore and Craig have pretty bad records but they still had good movies.
>>
>>221173880
If it doesn't have loads of CG, it's not slop.
>>
>>221180576
Lazenby had the misfortune of being the first new Bond and the plot having him pretend to be retarded for his coverup.
>>
>>221179124
I don't understand how you could possibly have dodged it.
>>
Octopussy is 10/10 and one of the most underrated films of the 80s
>>
>>221183068
It's Octopussy Man! I mean I assume you're the guy who shills O. in every Bond thread. Hard to believe there could be two of you.

Not only did it have the best intro, not only did it have the best bond girl, not only did it have the second best villain, it also is the best bond movie
>>
>>221173880
Arguably yes
Very well made, but ultimately slop

Die Another Fay is worse than any Moore film
>>
>>221183243
As a stand alone movie, I like Live and Let Die. But the fact that the movie is about a crime lord using literal magic tarot to see the future ruins it for me. So it evens out to mediocre.

It does have the best opening song obviously
>>
>>221183961
It's the dumbest Brosnan movie by far, but Brosnan himself is still excellent in it and it has a bunch of great individual scenes and ideas, including what I'd argue is the best fight scene in the franchise, the sword fight with Graves in the middle of the movie.

>>
>>221173880
Unc slop, which makes them kino.
>>
>>221173880
Pulp.
>>
For Your Eyes Only is the best looking Bond film, not the best one (that's Goldfinger) but the best LOOKING one. Agree?
>>
>>221184468
The Man With the Golden Gun is the best looking one imo, just because of the locations. Beautiful Southeast Asian locales and unforgettable places like the Bottoms Up Club, the half sunken ship, Scaramanga's lair. But just in terms of pure cinematography you may be right
>>
>>221184468
I am not sure what I would say is the best looking one, but when I watched FYEO a few months back I noticed how good the editing was. Perhaps not surprising give director John Glen, with FYEO being his directorial debut, prior to becoming a director was an editor.
