I actually liked it. The framing device actually being a part of the narrative and a substantial chunk of the movie was pretty cool.

This was where I finally gave up on Wes Anderson.Five minutes in and finally had enough with his self-fart-sniffing movies.
OP hereI actually liked the movie and the way the director takes his shots. From Wide Angle to close ups. To Black and White and full color really breathes life into the film. I enjoyed the closenit friendship the honoress created and the son of Augie going from someone outside the circle to leading it and getting over the death of his mother by finding romance with the actress daughter. I like the usage of imagery and symbolism, for instance the grandfather and Augie but heads but they come together and fix their relationship with the backdrop being the garage.

I gave up on Wes with GBH. First time I thought the criticism he constantly received of style of substance was true. But king of /tv/ Armond White praised Asteroid City so I'll probably check it out one day.

When I went to see it, during the scene near the end where Jason Schwartzman and Adrien Brody are talking to each other, the old lady sitting next to me leaned over to her husband and said "wait, those aren't the same person?"That's the level most people who didn't like this are working at.
