Pretty okay movie, but the movie leaves you hanging on what the fuck the two dudes were trying to do

it's very blessed that there's so many horror pinballs. though oddly never a F13 one. I guess because the rights are so messed up.

>the return of slasher movies, the J-Horror boom, found footage, torture porn. That's us.
Are you confusing the audience with the creators or something? Those are almost all boomers and gen x. Most millennials were like 7 years old when BWP and Ring came out
>>
>>221189681
>Most millennials were like 7 years old when BWP and Ring came out
I was like 12-13. Perfect age for that stuff. Great times.
But yeah, don't ever fucking confuse me for some creepypasta kid. We're different generations of horror fans.

I do love Channel Zero though, but that's a show based on creepypastas absolutely not meant for kids into creepypastas. That's the best stuff zoomers have done so far I think.
>>
>>221189839
You're one of the oldest possible millennials if you were 12 when BWP released.

Pffft I'm fine dude.
>>
>>221189839
well millennials are the original creepypasta generation. SCP was a late 2000s early 2010s era project. Backrooms was literally created by a channer. Ted the Caver, Jeff the Killer etc.
zoomers just took the ball and ran with it on youtube.
>>

>>
>>221190251
Slenderman was created by a somethingawful user lol
>>
>>221190299
Yeah, Slenderman is cool. I just don't see me and those 12-year old hillbilly girls who went into the woods and killed a girl in his name to belong to the same clique as I do

I wonder if SomethingAwful-guy ever tried to copywright that character he created. He could have made some serious merch money.

AI says this
>The actor (stuntman Spiro Razatos) was never on fire for one continuous take; rather, the scene was filmed across roughly 10 separate takes where he was repeatedly lit ablaze and extinguished.
>Because full-body burns are incredibly hazardous, a stunt performer is typically kept on fire for only 15 to 30 seconds per take before safety crews rush in with extinguishers to prevent heat transfer through the protective gel. In the final edit of Maniac Cop 2, these multiple takes were seamlessly spliced together to create the illusion of a single, continuous, and impossibly long burning sequence
Still a very well done scene between the stunt and the editing

> “I wouldn’t be interested if I didn’t think I could find a way in that feels fresh and new, while still respecting the original.”
>“The canon itself is all over the place, so there’s not much to stay loyal to other than the original,” Barker elaborates. “I want to make a new generation of people scared and give them this feeling of: ‘What if you went on a road trip with your friends and this happened to you?’ I want to capture the rawness and the grounded-ness of the original.”
Do you think he'll be able to pull of TCM? He might usher in a new wave of atmospheric remakes if he pulls this off since all we've had his hack-up-a-thons.

Not in 2026 and after, there is always ugly dei woke casting that ruins the vibe. Especially not for big budget mainstream movies where dei hiring is a must.

>>221196158
I think he's perfect. And TCM is such a garbage franchise (not movie, franchise) that there really isnt any way for him to ruin it. As long as it's not horrible it'll be better than most of the movies in it. And the cinematography in Obsession was the most impressive part of it. If he can make TCM look that good that's half the battle won.

Just finshed. Very cliche portrait of a serial killer movie that hit close to home for me. This is pretty low on action and all round made for TV level production, but one thing it does well is show the different facets of the killer. At home he's a gross slob, but at church he's respected and charming. He begs and connives to get strange women in his van to kill them, but at church women show themselves at him. He gets falsely accused of sexual assault by a teen girl there and gets out of basically just by denying it because he's got so much clout. In the real world he's a drunk who can't hold a job. The main guy does a great job without being showy, and the guy playing his prissy gay cousin/next door neighbor is good to. Outside of some very brief nudity and a couple f-bombs, this is a PG affair, i dont think there's any blood at all. I really responded to it showing how church communities can be so insular as to be a different world from mainstream society, and can put totally obviously monstrous people in positions of authority over defenseless ones. It's tightly written but honestly kinda crappy and boring, but it struck a chord with me.
And this scene had me laughing

I did kinda like it. It reminded me of Italian supernatural horrors. Unfortunately, it had all of their bad hallmarks, silly dialogues, nonsensical plot, the overacting ... But it sort of lacked what I like most about the Italians, the atmosphere. Or maybe I was just laughing to much to notice it.

The tight naked schoolgirl bodies were definitely a plus, I agree.

He's going to do the comedy horror thing with leatherface where he keeps the camera on him an extra minute long. That's curry barkers favorite thing to do. So that scene with leatherface flailing around and swinging at the air, it's going to be that but super long and you're gonna end up laughing cause it's a giant hillbilly retard swinging a chainsaw around. It could work.

That said I liked a lot about it, especially how it was a single fleshed out location, the protagonist wasn't a total retard, and most of all that the movie managed to have a pretty solid moral core and an unambiguously happy ending
Are there other horror movies that are actually scary but replicate the same appeal above
