Yes. It is one of the greatest tv shows of all time and, at the same time, one of the worst. Just like its creator, who wrote some of the best episodes and the very worst. It just went on for too long (blame FOX not willing to kill their highest rated drama). Had it lasted just the 5 seasons, it would be better regarded. I'm mildly intrigued by what Coogler will do with it. If anything, at least it'll be different.

Fucked up the conspiracy arc. It did surprisingly well at articulating the Cold War hangover, and the 'peace dividend' being a false dawn. Douchcovny hating his character didn't help as time went by.

I still can't believe a throwaway network like Fox made this. The early episodes, with set locations in Vancouver, shot on grainy film, movie-style. It was the precursor to what every "television" show is today. Never mind that television is no more. In retrospect, the Fox network was always going to be folded back into Disney/ABC. Big three forever.

The quality dropped severely once it stopped being filmed in Vancouver. Dogget had some good episodes to him, but he was too god for the writing at the time. Needed his own separate show.

>>221193392No. Even at its best its carried by Monster of the Week episodes with its main story episodes dragging it down a lot, and not just because of the actual story but also because those episodes are filled with tedious melodrama, and then the show was running for a good while outside its prime as well. Seasons 7, 9, 10 and 11 are all a chore to get through.
X-files, Star Trek TNG (or whatever flavor you like of Trek) is the greatest of all time.X-files has so much variety and stories that turned out awesome.
