>how many times in real life have you heard anyone say the Distortus Rex was cool or a good idea?
Well since they've always been clear that the dinosaurs are genetically engineered animals based on the originals but altered and even enhanced for theme-park appeal, the idea of a completely original monster isn't terrible. The execution was the problem. Just look at that thing, it looks more pitiful and comical than scary. How did that design make it all the way to the final cut?
>>
>>221195524
The problem is this is now the third movie where they've done the
>what if we made a completely original dinosaur through genetic tampering
concept and it was already kind of lame the first time they did it.
>>
>>221195582
Doesn't help that the designs are mostly shit, and the mutants don't do anything interesting.

The Indominus Rex from JW is just "what if we made the invisible Carnotaurus boss from the Lost World arcade game but for real" and only exists so they can bring back the original Rex and have it kick its ass at the end
The Indoraptor from Fallen Kingdom was only in the movie for about 10 minutes and did practically nothing.
I didn't watch the other two but I assume the Retardo-Rex is just as unimpressive but worse by virtue of looking incredibly stupid.
>>

The D-rex is in the movie for about 3 minutes and barely does anything. It's questionable as to why it even exists in the script.

The new t-rex has a 12/10 design, problem is that it's scenes are fucking dogshit, it can't kill anyone, is unable to bite through an inflatable raft despite having the strongest bite of any animal ever with massive fucking thick teeth and is foiled by two rocks that it could've just stepped over

Sometimes, there's movies that i know i 99% won't like. I save those until i get high (like 4 times a year max), I watch them and filter out the good and the bad.
The great thing about getting high for me, is the short term memory loss is insane, i literally don't remember this movie even though i watched it. Watch i do remember is (bad).

Some goods from over the years:

Krull
He man Masters of the Universe (the old one)
Dungeons and Dragons HAT (despite myself, being a huge racist)
Black Narcissus
Dust Bunny (2025, can't believe no one talks about this wtf)
A Cure for Wellness
Those new Sonic movies

I'll probably get high again sept-oct (i hate getting high) and this time I'll watch a bunch of those 70s/80s fantasy movies like Krull. I tried Conan but it's like some faggot jew made that movie to spite the creator/writer, didn't like.

>>221195060
The World films all feature the original T-rex from Jurassic Park 1993 in addition to whatever other T-Rexes there are. She literally is old, aging, and fucked up. She's like 30 years old in Dominion.

Well, it was almost certainly her last time on screen. You either have to kill her at that point or go full fan service. As of today, she would be 37 or 38 years old, so she almost certainly, like 99.9% will have had an off-screen death.

>>221197184
I'm a toy collector and as soon as I saw the design I thought "I have no interest in seeing this movie because it's gonna be shit, but maybe I'll grab the D-Rex as a generic monster for the shelf." I have have still not bothered to buy it because even though Mattel have been really good about pricing toys in the last few years it is still not worth it, and I think the same can be said for everyone else because there are still tons of these fucking things on shelves.
>>
>>221194944
This issue wouldn't have happened if they still shot with practical animatronics instead of farming out everything to CGI companies in India.
>>
This stuff is like a collective bad decision, a slow motion trainwreck. It doesn't matter how many people imbue it with life and curiosity as fans, the movie is still a bad idea. It's incredibly shortsighted to keep making new fantasy dinosaurs because of copyright: instead of tapping into the wonder of real dinosaurs, they trade against it like venture capitalists loading a company with debt. People come for dinosaurs and get OC slop. This could've been a timeless franchise, instead it's quickly overstaying its welcome.
>but muh toys!
Their toy design and manufacturing fucking sucks. The dinosaurs should be the base figure surrounded by endless scifi machinery, guns, bat-planes and bat credit cards. You know, like in the 90s and 80s. Fumbled IP

The more I think about it, the more I seeth. We could've had fanbases for every dinosaur like in the old days, but ten times as good because of all the fanservice and different matchups over the course of several movies. Just give the dinosaurs some distinctive marking or behavior the competition can't copy. The stupidity here is mind blowing

>>

>This issue wouldn't have happened if they still shot with practical animatronics instead of farming out everything to CGI companies in India
This. It was an ongoing annoyance throughout the first two Jurassic World flicks. The dinos constantly change size to fill the frame of whatever scene they're in, which makes the whole scene feel like a Roger Rabbit setup with obviously cartoon dinos.
>>
>>221195716
>The Indoraptor from Fallen Kingdom was only in the movie for about 10 minutes and did practically nothing

I actually love the indo raptor. I love how it trolls people, how it smuggly creeps around corners like a slasher movie villain and there is a curious scene where he smells the little girl and backs away from her.

I always assumed this was because of an abandoned plot point about how because the indo raptor and the girl are both clones he instincually wont atack her. I feel like there is a completely different movie intended to be made about ghosts. Haunted houses, clones and mad scientists that the studio exects completely gutted.

The haunted house tone of Fallen Kimgdom makes it my favorite of the 4 world movies.
>>
>>221194931
yeah i was simply gobsmacked the whole runtime and I bet if I tried to list why I'd barely get through half of the issues the movie has.
biggest gripes are early on though
>extreme ultra pistol for dinos just bounces off the spino skin
>really forced "omg i saw u do a bad" scene
>spend a huge amount of time and effort on getting supplies to float on the water
>woman dies pushing one onto shore (somehow there are multiple supply crates despite them using every PFD on one crate on the boat)
>minutes later they announce "don't bring anything you don't want to carry for days" and this dead woman's good friend unceremoniously drops the shit she died to secure, because the only important object is the tiny case with the macguffin gun

The trouble with Jurassic Park is that you can only raise the stakes with dinosaurs so many times. A T-Rex is basically the biggest bad you can include, the velociraptors are the smartest and most deadly. What do you do after that? Two t-rexes? That's what JP2 did. JP3 did the spinosaurus which really makes no sense because from what we know it ate fish and there's no reason it would be a step up from the t-rex in any way. That's why they then have to do retarded shit like mutant dinos that are basically just kaijus, and velociraptors that are human-level intelligent. There's only so much mileage in dinos, which is not something that Hollywood or dinofags want to hear.
