This is my trans wife’s place originally
>>
Because that guy is the audience surrogate and we are frightened for him. He's the closest thing to an innocent bystander that we can relate to.
>>
>>221195364
It’s our introduction to Chigurh. Coming into the scene, we know nothing about him. By the end of it, it’s like watching a man beat Death on a roll of the dice.

Fake deep to normies. This scene is for people thought Obsession was the greatest movie in history.

Nooses to hang Emmett Till, Emmett Till's rapist daddy, MLK, George Stinney, and any other no good trouble making criminal piece of shit.
>>
>>221195364
It's all the performance of the dude behind the counter.
>>
>>221195902
You watched him choke a cop to death at the start of the movie.
>>
>>221195364
its a well acted well written tense scene, that isnt a cliche

Our movies could be full of them if there werent so many hacks working in hollywood, even our blockbuster capeshit shit could have scenes like this

Have a small hope that Curry Barker's Texas Chain Saw Massacre can vibe check NCfOM, I like Blood Simple and respect their aesthetic precision but the Coens spent decades projecting their detached, affected, "intellectualized" "mildly" snickering portrayals of white gentiles until their filmography is a morass of soul sucking revisionism, like if I Tanya had been well made and smarter it could have been a Coens slop. A NCfOM directed by Lynch could have been the real classic it's lazily considered to be. It is true that the Coens ended up btfo Paul Thomas Anderson's filmography, PTA turned into such an insufferable ego maggot

No I didn't, I was afraid and closed my eyes until it was over.

Its not deep its just an all time tense thriller scene
>>
It's both relatable and power fantasy inducing, mostly because how well the guy behind the counter is acting
>>
>>221197332
Coens crush PTS and yes blood Simple is an amazing movie aswell as NCFOM
>>
>>221196637
Wow, my opinion of the Coens just plummeted. Racism has no place in Hollywood.
>>
>>221195364
Everyone has met an unhinged drunk or been one at some point. Anton is scarier because he's permanently like that.
