Does the original backrooms post come across as satire to anyone else? Like anon was seeing all these efforts to make disturbing creepy otherworldly copypastas, and decided to post an Eldritch location that's just a shitty, stinky office
Is this really what normies find scary empty rooms?
>>221204292>2019It's just a retarded and badly written version of homer simpson glitching into another world or dozens of other stories. This is a very generic setup.
>>221204292I understand what you mean but /x/ is a really goofy board, you'll see much, much sillier stuff posted with complete sincerity, and I'm not just talking about the schizos and true believers.
>>221204292anons shitposted so hard that hollywood had made a movie from a shitpost
>>221204292The last sentence ruined it.
>>221204292Of course it's satire>>221204353Agreed
>>221204292How much money did this anon get in the end?
>>221204353>>221204366"noclipping" somewhere already ruined it
>>221204377I didn't get anything unfortunately
>>221204292did the subreddit "two sentence horror" or whatever it's called predate this post?similar amateur writing style
>>221204321it's what young people dobeing born in a time when you can still see glimpses of the better age you just missed must be terrifying
>>221204377/lit/ told me that as soon as you write something that you get the copyright. So they were lying to me?
>um the backrooms post is bad actuallyGiven all that it spawned, it seems far from it. It obviously tapped into something that resonated with a lot of people. It has massive appeal. Plenty of people write hundreds of pages of loving crafted prose but hardly anybody gives a shit and their novels wind up in the bargain bin. Whoever wrote the post managed to evoke in a few sentences what most trained writers can't do over the course of thousands of sentences. Pretty impressive, honestly.
>umm it's good actually because people with actual creativity made something out of it I accept your concession
>>221205145Noclipping was never mentioned in the movie. The very specific size neither. They disregarded most of it. And it's about 2 characters and not really just about backrooms. And Chiwetel is a very good actor. He carried that movie.
>>221205250They were inspired to make something based on it because it was good in and of itself. Did they add more to it? Do more with it? Of course. But the concept itself was intriguing to the point that the biggest things created from it did little to really alter the underlying premise.
>>221205288>noclipping wasnt mentioned So? He literally no clips through a wall regardless.
>>221205288He's also clearly talking about noclipping all the time. Just watch out if you do it in the wrong areas. Something that's nowhere to be found in the movie. Noclipping is also not just using a portal either. Another big difference to the "source material". No era mentioned either. So it's presumably the present. 2019. The movie is set in the past, not 2019. Which helps it greatly in my opinion
For the people who shit on the importance of the original post, you have to honestly answer the question of if The Backrooms movie, and all the other backrooms shit, would have even existed if not for the original post. If Kane Parsons hadn't been inspired by the backrooms concept to make his short, who knows what he would've been doing today.
