I grew up in a Letterman house (also went to the same high school as him) and I was actually a big fan of Conan's late show.
At the end of the day though, TV is all about ratings and Conan's ratings sucked when he went to the 11pm slot.
His show also was awful when it moved to california. no max weinberg, clearly watered down for grandpas and grandmas. So yeah, ratings tanked and Letterman was loving it because he was winning again.
If anyone is the bad guy, it's reality, because it's show business not show charity.
All Conan had to do was move the Tonight Show to 1130 but he had an ego.
Jay Leno seems like a nice guy to me, I can't hate him even if I was never a fan of his talk show. I liked his youtube car channel.
