I could never really tell the difference between strains except one time where I had some blueberry yum yum and it really did have a hint of blueberry.

Unless you were getting directly from a good grower that actually knew their shit, the weed you were buying had been passed around by multiple people by the time it got to you and your dealer or probably even their supplier had no idea what the strain really was.
