So did he just forget how to direct or what?

When one gets old and complacent, they tend to lose what made them interesting to begin with.
>>
>>221211662
He never could.
>>
>>221211662
His directing of scenes is still good, but he's an old rambling boomer now instead of retaining a childlike sense of wonder for fantasy and adventure so he picks the most boomercore scripts

a lot of things factor into why a director declines as they get older, but mostly it's that they're rich and complacent and unwilling to fight the hard battles for artistic integrity. Some of those battles are with themselves, some of them are with moneyed interests that don't care about art, but they're all brutal and demoralizing and being able to pay to make them go away feels good but kills art.

1. His last good movie was Catch Me If You Can
2. Still diddling, I see.

1. Nah. War of the World and Munich were both good. Munich was his last good one.

anon

imma let you in on a secret

most of these directors, that are up there in age, no longer direct their movies

instead, they have a team of previz artists that construct the ENTIRE movie for them

afterwards, the production goes out and films the movie according to the previz - the director is barely involved at this stage, and its usually the 2nd A.D. that does all the work

when the movie is finished, the famous director is brought in and is used to sell the movie

Munich is hugely underrated. It’s a top 5 berg flick

This picture creeps me out

That may be true of Peter Jackson and Ridley Scott but not Spielberg or PTA

>>221213638
Turns me on

God I hope those kids parents stay on set 24/7 with them. I don't want to see another Heather O'Rourke or Simon of Trent.

As bad as you think Disclosure Day may be it's a better movie than Oppenheimer. So not really.
>>
Shalom
>>
>>221214200
It absolutely is not
>>
>>221215030
Agreed dunno what that guy is smoking.

Oppenheimer was like 8/10.

disclosure was like a 5. If they cut 30 mins and with a few tweaks it coulda been a 7 or 8

That nose says, "I will never forget how to rape".
>>
>>221213541
Yeah my theory while watching it was that Spielberg let JJ Abrams ghost-direct a movie for him

Martin Scorsese is probably the best old director still working, but even so, a lot of people don't like his current output.

What the fuck? This guy was fucking everywhere. Epstein was like Harvey Weinstein 2.0 but he fucked children instead of adults.
