Would the movie have worked if it didn't end with such a ridiculous ending shot?

Because of short attention spans. The tiktok audiences can't remember what the characters did 5 mins ago

I will disagree because back in the day we used to think Seven Samurai was a long movie with its runtime of 3 or 4 hours and kids knock back entire seasons of shows in one sitting.

Modern shows have six to ten episodes and they're designed to be "watched" while playing with your phone. It's not like it used to be when a season would have 25-35 episodes that had to be the focus of attention to understand what was going on.

Nah. I've experimented with this when I'm very tired: I'm unable to finish a 2hr movie in one sitting but I can easily watch hours of Netflix shows.
