And yeah the film is definitely better, but what made the film good is that it understood the book, which was a good book.

And powergirl and lobo are both complicated characters. What I'm seeing from the trailers is they actually understand that supergirl isn't girlboss superman, she is a traumatized teenager with the power of a god. And for lobo I see a guy who really has no reason to be afraid of anything ever and enjoys not being bored.

The things that made these characters good in the comic books I'm seeing in the trailers to the film. THAT SAID, the problem isn't whether it's a good film or not, the problem is the political and economic context into which the film is being sold.

So I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it. I'm pretty sure fuck all other people are going to bother to see it.

Masters of the Universe really hammered home that hollywood can't sell water to a man dying of thirst any more.

Man of Steel proved two things.
