I don't get the appeal

I liked it I don't know why it filtered you but maybe give it another watch or two and you will find something to love about it. Look at it this way, each time you watch it you can try a new drug+kino combo experience. Start by watching it shit faced drunk, then watch it while stoned, watch it while getting blown, doing cocaine, dropping acid, anything you can think of. Then you'll get it.

People like the idea of liking science fiction, but find it "too smart", so they made a science fiction movie for the retards.

I liked rocky.

It's a pretty nice and straight forward family friendly space adventure with some heart
It being so simple kind of works to it's advantage, they actually shaved off a lot of the Fuck Yeah Science cringe from the source

Science fiction was never intended to please physicists anon.

>dude just take substance after substance until you appreciate it
wow, must be a terrible movie

That's fine, anon. You shouldn't feel compelled to like everything. I personally liked the movie, but when my mom said, "this is boring" I didn't hold it against her. That's the beauty of art.

coms, that's all it is, its them sending a message to their sacrificial lambs.

let me elaborate:
think of football (american, not inferior browns version)
you have two sides, a field, two goals, and a ball.
the purpose of football is for either of the two sides to move the ball across the field INTO the goal of the opposing side.
so a hailmary, is a move that has no chance of winning, being played, after praying, the "hail mary", (some catholic prayer, idk, i'm christian, not catholic)

now, this is very important, and is the key to understanding the coms of this movie, and most of the rituals world wide.
in this case, the football, is a man.
a sacriffical lamb, being sent out, and the whole "team" (nation, religious order, brotherhood, w/e you want to call it) is working to "move" (through manipulation, propaganda, hypnotism, threats, etc) the "ball" across the field, until they reach the oppositions goal posts

hillsong's song "so will i", alludes to this, especially the part "you would die a hundred billion times", meaning, they are willing to send hundreds of billions of people to their deaths, in order to score a goal.
mind you, this is every religious group on the planet, they're all acting in concert towards that same goal, that one "hail mary"

now, you may be wondering, "is it christians, didn't jesus already finish the work?", they dont believe that Jesus finished the work, so they kill another sacrifice, abraham lincoln, 100million native americans, babies, jfk, george floyd, burning man dorner, etc
all human sacrificices, send to their deaths. all for them to "send their codes to the stars" (a line from the group Muse, i forget which album, its one of the symphonies)
the hail mary is for them to send their pleas for God to open up the "vaults of heaven", or as ellie goulding put it, "unleash the rain" (in her song "destiny').

but no hail mary will open the vaults, only sincere repentance.
also, i didn't watch the movie......

Me neither. Feels like a safe, constructed movie for the plebeian audience in 2026.
