Shark bros... we eatin' good
>>

This has to be the 7th shark movie to come out since 2020, what the heck is going on?
>>
>>221218090
i downloaded it and ffwed through it to see if this was a quality movie or one of those garbage low budget syfy tier shitfests and it looked like the latter so i deleted it
>>
>>221218125
>hollywood too afraid to remake jaws so i stead just make shitty jaws ripoffs
>>
>>221218160
Yeah it was pretty boring but the plane crash scene was well made
>>
>>221218165
This has very little to do with Jaws thematically or story wise. Only similarity is there's sharks. And even that's plural.
>>

>This has to be the 7th shark movie to come out since 2020
Lol, LMAO.

Try 13th since 2024.

I want to believe these are CCP-funded propaganda flicks to warrant shark harvesting for their meme soup.

China recently made their own remakes of both The Shallows & Anaconda.

I will only watch if they bring back Jon Voight and his funny spanish accent

The Shallows (2016) thankfully pulled the killer animal genre out of the depths of zero budget SyFyChannel/Sharknado parody garbage.

I haven't heard about any of the recent Shark films being glaringly trash.

On this topic specifically our current era's basement of quality seems to be higher than the general ceiling for 2008-ish to 2015.

2007 was a strong year with 3 extremely solid Croc films (Rogue, Primeval, Black Water) but then things plummeted.

Croc/Gator films have a surprising strong track record.

> Rogue (2007)
Great

> Crawl (2019)
Great

> Primeval (2007)
Very Good to Great?

> Alligator (1980)
Very Good

> Alligator 2 - The Mutation (1991)
Good to Very Good

> Lake Placid (1999)
Good

> Crocodile (1979)
OK / Meh (thing was sadly butchered to hell in multiple edits but is unique for splicing kajiu, disaster, jaws rip-off and grieving character study elements all together)

> Crocodile (2000)
OK / Meh

> Crocodile 2 - Death Swamp (2002)
Decent to Good-ish

> Black Water (2007)
Very Good (would be great but it's bleakness limits it's re-watchability)

> Croc (2007)
Decent (has based Michael Madsen playing a Quint type hunter)

> Blood Surf (2000)
Bad but fun & has a lot of nudity

> The Great Alligator River (1979)
Decent

I do wonder how we've never gotten any Jaws remakes/sequels since 4.
One of the most famous films of all time and its sitting on the shelf.

Still fucking waiting for pic related by the same director announced in 2013.
>>

What's the actual explanation for this? Must be cheap as shit to produce or something
>>
This was so bad it was watchable. Not in a 'so bad it's good' sense, but in a 'there must be some tax loophole reason for this utter mess to have been produced Alice Eve's huge knockers'

Such a brilliant out-of-leftfield scene. I want to believe Alice came up with it on the day and demanded it be shot. The scene where she's lowered into the sea she's clearly loving it.

Sharks gets their shit pushed in by Orcas. Orcas literally kill great whites just to eat their liver and then leave the rest of the carcass.
>>
>>221218213
>He's not including all of the Chinese ones, which include a straight up higher budget remake of Sharktopus and remaking The Shallows as a Groundhog day thriller
It's kind of nuts.

My wife fucking loves shark movies. There's fuck all else out this weekend so I might as well download it.

To be fair, their livers are humongous.
>>
Aaron Eckhart and Ben Kinglsey are behind on their alimony payments.
>>
>>221218090
a lot of the shark movies are just bullshit scenarios with super sharks
surviving a feeding frenzy after a plane crash in the ocean does sound plausible at least

This would be a compelling and horrific movie that /they/ don't want to make since /they/ don't take accountability for it.

If the plane sections are buoyant enough to float, why don't they just hang out in the plane until rescue arrives?
>>
>>221222023
It would be neat to make a movie where one of the survivors ends up encountering a shark decades later.

>To be fair, their livers are humongous.
Touche but it's still only around 1/4 the mass of a shark species that can weigh up to 2 tons. That's a lot of food they're just leaving behind because they just want one particular treat. Be like humans butchering a pig, taking just the loin, then leaving the rest of the carcass.
>>
>>221222023
Spielberg actually wanted Jaws 2 to be a prequel involving that.
>>
>>221218480
Alligator is literally a perfect movie.
