is The Wire worth watching?
>>221221073Slow paced, depressing topics, light starved, sad colors, drudgery.
Yes. I'd put it a tier below Sopranos but it's still very good. Here you'll get a lot of spergy racist answers though I'm guessing.
>>221221073No, and I'll tell you why.
>>221221073Yes.
>>221221073 So far its lame as fuck. At episode 7.
>>221221073No. Maybe if you're in a sociology class or some shit, but most of it's fucking boring and all the characters are assholes. Great, just how I want to spend my time, watching poor blacka fuck each other over and police officers doing either nothing or more harm than good.
>>221221073multi-season dramas are never worth watching. Sitcoms are the only ones that can pull it off and even then it's dicey
>>221221073Yes, it's the best cop drama along with The Shield. Very different shows, but equally great.
>>221221073It's the best television show ever made. And likely will ever be made.
I only know about Euphoria and Obsession
>>221221073it's one of a very small handful of tv shows that deserve the hype.
Of course. I could understand if someone preferred something like Breaking Bad , but the wire has its "fun" moments too.
>>221221073yes but 2x speed for seasons 3 and 4
>>221221386Sitcoms are trash. Literally every single one, no exceptions.
Yeah it's great. Rewatched it recently for the first time in over a decade and it's faster paced and more entertaining than I remembered.
>>221221073>Sheeeeeeeeit
>>221222083>watch the best season in 2x speed
>>221221073jimmy wasnt good police but he was good murder police
>>221221098it's about baltimore, i'm not sure what you were expecting
>>221222189>thinking you can touch the money faucet himselfStringer was a turbo midwit
>>221221073British cop shows > American ones.Watching Line of Duty atm. It's better than the wire by a fucking mile.
It hasn't aged as well as The Sopranos for zoomer tastes. It's very slow and you actually have to pay attention rather than scroll Tiktok with it in the background.
McNulty was so fucking hot
>>221221345>A society with deep rooted problems and no solutions>You can try your hardest to do something about it but don't surprised if nothing comes of itIt's grim and realistic although I imagine people enjoy it for the memes>Pit beef sammiches>Cheese>Prez having an arc>The youngins>The ridiculousness that is bruva mouzone>Idris and Michael before they were super stars
>>221223828I love the episodes where the coppers arrest the dead body then give the smelly brown man with a knife standing over the body a pat on the head and a packet of biscuits
>>221221073Absolutely. It's still an all-time great show but it needs commitment. Every season is a coherent whole and the later ones build upon their predecessors so a "two episodes now another three next month" tempo will get you nowhere. The key is to watch it in a rather consistent manner and you won't able to know if it's really for you before the end of the first season. You can watch multiple episodes at one sitting and you're not in a hurry but it's a slow-burning drama that requires your attention. It's well-worth the investment but you should be prepared to make that investment.
>>221223951>realistic
Definitely. Best show there is on institutional critique. Lots of great characters.I'd watch 10 seasons of the Mayor of Baltimore trying to make shit happen and being constrained by various political and social forces. Really good display of politics vs. policy, as well as unfriendly dealmaking.
>>221221073Its worth watching the first 15 minutes to see how outrageously corny and retarded the show is. Its a crazy realization. Especially if you've grown up online reading how its the greatest show ever.
>>221221073Only ever watched the first season because people raved about it and in fairness it was pretty good, but I couldn't be bothered watching any more.
>Everyone hitting up Avon for cash with inflated numbers and no guaranteed return all season>Stringer comes along and is about to piss him off begging as well>Asks for pocket change
Worth watching for Clay Davis alone
>>221224626can't believe that slippery fuck beat the rap. incompetent prosecution man
>>221224469season 2 takes an astronomic leap, and it helps that you already know the characters that carry over
>>221221073Only if you know chess
>>221221073No. There's nothing even remotely interesting about black crime. It's low level retard slop that's even less interesting than Italian crime slop.
>>221224147>>221224262In reality the black criminals are more violent and an order of magnitude dumber than they're portrayed in the show. The politicians are also worse because it turns out that they're also just black criminals. The only good takeaway from The Wire is that these communities are utterly hopeless.
I like the wire because white male characters are allowed to be masculine, smart and slightly racist and everybody gets along. Even if its "proto woke" or whatever I still miss the era where racism was basically solved for average people
the "fuck" scene pops into my head at least weekly

>>221224408Kys zoomer
>>221221073idk but I wanted a crime thriller not a pseudo documentary drama.
>>221222386something actually good and not just meandering slop for midwits to praise without any merit because they just parrot each others hitty retard opinions to fit in
>>221225879now if they were saying "nigger" instead, that would be based amirite fellow chuds xD
