How bad is it?
>>221221363Personally I really enjoyed it. Watch the COPA edit. The beginning and end are much better than the theatrical.
>>221221363I've only seen one scene. Some guys invade Andy Garcia's house and hold his girlfriend hostage and he kills them. It seemed OK but not good enough to make me want to watch the rest of the film.
>>221221363>HOOOOHAAAA I'M A GANGSTER NOW
>>221221363Unpolished. Needs more takes. Needs more editing.
Dunkin
Not a terrible film overall but appreciably worse than Godfathers 1 and 2
A pretty good movie with one major issue- Pacino by this point was incapable of channeling the Micheal Corleone character. His whole vibe/coke habit had become too "big". His performance is good for what it is, but it isn't the Micheal from the first two movies.Again though, that being said, the movie has some kino segments.
>>221222054People often change from their late 30's to their mid 60's. And I'm talking about the character as well.
>>221221363Redundant entry. Part 2 ended perfectly, you didn't need this cashgrab slop to add onto it (poorly, I might add)
>>221222089Eh...To me the vibe is off in a way that doesn’t feel like an acting choice.
>>221221363Good post. What I want to ask is, what causes this? Why do trilogies start to "jump the shark" in the third iteration? Is it really hard to get it right?
>coppola actually thought this was a good haircut for michael
>>221221363It's not bad, it just can't live up the standards that the previous movies set.
>>221221363I unironically didn't see the end coming
>>221223839Meanwhile he had the perfect haircut in SoaW less than 2 years later.
>>221221363There's a part 3?
>>221223822Two things. One that classics are rare for a good reason. 99% of the mainstream filmmakers have zero. Coppola delivering one with G1 was an incredible achievement and doing it again with 2 was a borderline miracle. The odds of striking gold for the third time was close to zero. Despite this anybody that falls short to the extremely high standards set by the first two Godfather will come off a disappointment. This is what happened here. The second thing is that with the first episode of the trilogy you have a blank state. This is not true with the second episode as it will be inherently compared to the first but you have the freedom to pick a direction from the numerous possible ways. The third episode is complicated as you have the fans of the first and second with their own preferences and expectations and both would like a worthy closure to the trilogy. And you can't please everybody.
>>221221430And most importantly it needs an actress to play the role of Mary.
