>Smallville Supergirl is just flying around as Supergirl>she's a a celebrity superhero and everyone knows who she is>she's also a model who does photoshoots or something>mentors Clark on how he, too, will become a superhero some day, perhapslater Smallville was so fucking weird, man. it felt like one of those situations where they couldn't get some rights, except they COULD use all these characters: they just wrote themselves into some really strange holes.
>>221230107I thought the 1984 movie would be shit but it was fun
>>221232230Old enough to have seen 'Supergirl' (1984) when it first came out. My Dad was a huge fan of the first two Reeves movies, (seen them so many times I could recite them), and I remember his disappointment was immeasurable and his night was ruined. As a kid I was nonplussed, but more disappointed by the cheap-out effects and lack of any real action than anything. Just wasn't up to par with the Reeve films. My Dad was never a big fan of Faye Dunaway and she was pretty fucking ridiculous in this to be fair. I don't know what in the fuck Peter O'Toole was supposed to be doing, but again to be fair, they didn't give him much to work with, (and he was probably drunk as per usual). All the horseshit with him seemed like a big throwback to the 70's in the worst way that made that all seem dated. In contrast to the 70's crystal shit actually making the original films cool and futuristic. They didn't seem out of place in the 80's at all and easy to believe they were made in that decade. So back-asswards and weird when you lived through that era.Back in those days the prevailing attitude was that comic book films were comedy/kid's films - especially among Hollywoodfags - so actors tended to really ham it up if they were allowed to do so, (Hence 'Batman and Robin' just being the popular actors of the day being douchebags). Say what you like about the MCU but when they started treating the source material serious it no-shock-to-me made a billion dollars. But as we've seen multiple times these things eventually succumb to the old attitude where fags just don't take them seriously in terms of drama, (different to having comedy aspects, characters, or funny moments/lines).
80's was the hottest because she looks like the most nerdy down to earth version of them all which is very attractive. There is a scene in the movie where she first goes to the school and is changing into normie clothes and you see her half wearing her costume half in normie clothes and it is so hot. Wish there were better pictures of that scene

>>221230107Benoist is the best casting, but obviously it wasn’t the best production because it was CW cuckoldry writing. To address the viral marketer who made this thread though, I’m sorry that your movie is going to flop. There’s simply not a big enough audience for a weird looking girl boss supergirl rn. And guardians of the galaxy has been done to death too.
>>221230107Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League/Justice League Unlimited did it best
>>221233730how old was she meant to be?when they do that !notPowerGirl clone episode and Green Arrow says she's 'a little more mature', yeah hurr durr tits, but then is Supergirl like 13 or 17?i demand accurate pubescence in my superhero cartoons.

Milly Alcock, unironically.I like tomboys (2023) but there's something about the suit that's off. I think it's the 75/25 two-tone coloring, and the fingerless bodysuit gloves. Also the fact that she's not even a character. That's half the reason I like Alcock; the snarky attitude that will turn superhero.Lord have mercy I'm erect just talking about it. I won't last in the theater.
