>therapist appears helpful in the conscience world
>travels to the unconscious world in order to help her patient
>in the unconscious world she is powerless and lost just like the patient
>she is forced to explicitly admit that she can't help anyone
>the patient's shadow kills him and she only escapes herself due to external forces outside her control

Other than The Sopranos, I can't think of something more directly anti-therapy

sopranos wasn't anti-therapy, you're not very smart

A major theme of the show is that because therapy tries to minimize anti-social behavior but doesn't make moral judgments on what should be considered anti-social, it ultimately just helps people do what they wanted to do anyway

>the first zoomer movie is about how therapy is pointless
Obsession was the first zoomer movie, retard. You're also wrong about the therapy thing too.

The issue was Tony was constantly still in that world and being diplomatic couldn't always work. He made obvious attempts to correct behavior, but always ended up going backwards because he was still constantly living with all the causes of his issues. He could never leave.

Considering zoomies are having sex the least of any gen and are approaching women the absolute least of any previous gen, it's the perfect movie for them. It's also going to further damage their dating chances since now their own women are going to be afraid of them.

The sopranos was an indictment of melf'is character who enabled tony, not so much therapy itself. You're forgetting she has her own therapy scenes and there was that time she recommended her "mentor" to carmella who basically moralised the shit out of her and refused payment because it was blood money.

Oh wait this this is a backrooms thread and talking about the sopranos is a million times more interesting k bye.

>talking about the sopranos is a million times more interesting
there’s already a trillion threads about it daily. you’ve worn yourself thin. try watching other stuff. eventually you’re going to have to because in a few years, there will be too much and the majority anons in the future will see it as reddit trash that was never good
>>
>>221231426
>You're forgetting she has her own therapy scenes
Also in those she's shown to be pretty retarded and her own therapist calls her out on things constantly, with her rebuffing him in a similar way to how Tony did with her.
>>
>>221231462
I watch plenty, it doesn't change the fact the sopranos is infinitely more interesting than a movie that will be forgotten about in a couple of weeks.
>>221231487
I thought about it after posting and you're right, chase did say he didn't have a very good experience with therapy and based it around that.
>>

>chase did say he didn't have a very good experience with therapy and based it around that.
I think the message is that therapy can work, but it also heavily depends on the therapist. It can really only work if a therapist pushes back with force and really tries to make the person take some accountability, and Melfi was terrible at doing that.

oy vey the backrooms sequel needs to address this issue right now and kane parsons needs to be fired
in the next movie the protagonist will escape the backrooms via the power of antidepressants
in fact the backrooms won't even exist in the next movie because the protagonist is on antidepressants. the backrooms is just used as a hypothetical warning example by a psychologist. at the end of the movie, the protagonist gets an antidepressant prescription from a psychiatrist and never feels a thing ever again, happily ever after.

It's just the male zoomers not having sex. Female zoomers have already had more sex than the previous living generations combined.

This is an interesting take. I'm sure it's not the first time that someone has pointed it out, but still.
Personally I felt like the "still life" copies of people, which the backrooms creates, are like tulpas, which are mental entities that people create in their heads, and can take over the actual person over time. That's kind of what the pirate version of Clark is. He's tall, intimidating, fully embodies the furniture store's brand as its literal mascot, is in control of his reality (the backrooms). It's the opposite of what Clark is in real life, with his failing furniture store, shitty commercials, fucked up relationship etc. Although in reality, people don't usually let evil, made up personalities take over their minds. The reason it happened to Clark is that he crossed the threshold (the null zone in the basement) into a realm of chaos, causing him to lose control and let his demon literally consume him.

based. 99% of therapists are incompetent frauds who should be fed to the woodchipper
>>
It's like therapy doesn't work for men
>>
>>221232527
this, anybody that has interacted with psychology students knows that they are almost all gay and insane
>>
>>221231220
I have the 'tism, so therapy has never helped me. Every time I've tried, they always tell me things about myself that I'm already aware of, and suggest things I've already done. And of course when they suggest meditation, they're at a loss when I tell them that I do it daily. They just can't comprehend that 'tism brains are wired different and normieshit doesn't work the same way on us.

men would rather noclip out of reality and hang out with literal demons instead of sorting out their problems and taking their meds
