Hokum was better than Oddity. I wouldn't necessarily say it was "Hollywood" in the way the narrative was structured, it was moderately paced and kind of gradual which is not something you see in Hollywood nowadays where the pacing is made so that the film kinda rushes by, even Backrooms was sorta that way, like Kane felt he needed to up the ante every time (I thought the final confrontation was awkward and corny, not really scary, the found footage segment was probably the peak of the film). While Hokum is a character driven thing and the pacing of the film is more or less uniform. But in terms of story beats there are definitely some clichés. It's very obviously Stephen King inspired.
