Not watching it. Not because it's "woke" or "historically inaccurate" because it's a Greek play but because it looks incredibly sterile and bland. Movies are products now and I just accept that.

I mean, yes they technically always have been. But I feel over the past 10 or so years every film looks EXACTLY the same. The post-production colour grading is the same. The artificial darkness is the same. Everything has this terrible cinematic look that Nolan has ironically himself influenced the creation of. There are no risks taken any more because risks upset producers.

How would that even work from a timeline basis. Africans migrated to ancient Greece at least 10-7,000 years ago, fully integrated into Greek society to a point where some of them could even become royalty. It doesn't make any sense. Civilization began in Uruk 5.5 thousand years ago. There wasn't any time for Africans to migrate anywhere.

its just jewish propaganda. it doesnt need to make any sense

Brought to you by the same minds that cant tell men and women apart. They're the new antiscience/flat earthers and dont care if things make sense or derive from observable and reproduceable phenomena.

Yeah, I get. As if almost every /tv/ [product] is made in a lab. Normie apparently don't care though, so maybe it'll stay like that for the next decade as well.

Thanks Nolan, we won't be getting another mythology movie wave thanks to this dark-ass can't-see-shit high school play production set ass miserable movie. Probably for the best.

If it was the other way around, a society on the technological level of ancient Greece could not have crossed the African sub-saharan jungles. There is zero chance that a Kongolese person would make it to Greece 4.5 thousand years ago.
>>
>>221240587
well gee how does cyclops make sense? or a harpy?
>>
You know what's odd is how those trying to subvert our perceptions of ancient history usually also fall for the same Mediterranean-centric ideas they claim to be subverting.
There were advanced sub-Saharan African states. There was the Kingdom of Kush, for example. Those guys were a Egyptian colony and then became the pharaohs themselves for a time. They had sophisticated architecture and aristocratic traditions. Where's their film? Nowhere because instead we need to have sub-Saharan Africans in Greece or Rome or Persia, in top positions, mind you. Depicting real people who we know weren't black. Even later on in the middle ages and early modern era you had the Kongo Kingdom and the Asante who had large permanent cities, lavish courts and even ambassadors to Europe. Does anyone care about these kingdoms? No. It's like being racist to yourself, or at least not culturally conscious.
>>
>>221240898
>Does anyone care about these kingdoms? No.
Might be why nobody is making a film about them, eh.
>>
>>221240932
Well they should care because that's the very thing they're trying to point out to the world. The Kongo had cities that rivalled some of the ones in Europe. The opportunity is right there.
>>
Nolan hasn't made anything good since The Prestige.

Homer's works are based on even older lore like the flood and the story of Noah are based on Babylonian creation myths. Maybe cyclopses and harpies made a little more sense before the Greeks enhanced the story.
>>
>>221240971
I disagree, I think they are trying to persuade the world that europe has always included nonwhite people. They know nobody cares about African societies.

Portuguese explorers described the capital as about the size of Évora in Portugal which is about 1,307 square kilometres. It was also a fully walled city.

And that means it 'rivalled' cities in Europe?
Maybe that was impressive for a city in Sub-Saharan Africa, but not for anywhere else.

Still gonna see this flick purely since it was shot for IMAX. The trailer looked super crisp compared to when I saw Disclosure Day which was shot on just standard 35mm.
