Hey guys just stop real quick and pray with me.
>>
>>221242689
what's wrong with that?
>>
Our father who art in Heaven,
Crushing them turts down to Hell
>>
>>221242814
making a public display of this sort of thing is fundamentally repugnant and antithetical to the foundational teaching of the religion he's co-opting for attention
>>
>>221242689
If God is real, what was the reason behind letting the Turks conquer Anatolia?
>>
>>221242858
>antithetical to the foundational teaching
asking people to pray is antithetical to Christianity?
>>
I can't wait to stomp on all those nig... oombas.
>>
>Put your phone down guys
>Now stop real quick and pray with me on your phone
Chris please I can't do two things at once Chris please
>>
>>221242894
The Jewish God isn't real
>>
>>221242858
Not true, public prayer is fine. Prayer for self serving reasons or recognition from others as some kind of ego boost is what's wrong. Jesus Himself prayed in front of others
>>
>>221242914
dont put words in my mouth you fucking bloody bastard
>>
>>221242689
Okay Chris just give me a moment to download the paid prayer app you're shilling
>>
>>221242953
sorry dude. Will pray for you
>>
>>221242689
I like the message but I can't stand videos that do the
>stop scrolling, do you have a minute to pray with me?
as a way to get that view time in and scum the creator fund. I don't get that vibe as much from Pratt's prayer vids but the entire concept just annoys me
>>
>>221242814
prayer does nothing becasue youre praying to nothing I guess
>>
>>221242983
I'm a commie when it comes to the gospel or prayer, charging money messes me up, like if what you're doing is so spiritually fulfilling, you're really willing to paywall it?
>>
The truth of the nature of existence cannot be told or expressed since it is unknowable and that unknowable element is ok and accepting it brings peace. But we are not ready for a Daoist Chris Pratt.
>>
>>221243019
>literally 99% of nature and existence has been studied, documented and revealed in the past 300 years by the scientific process
>Nuh-uh you can't reveal that last 1%, its literally unknowable, thats where GOD hides, dont even try it. just accept it, goyim and worship a dead jew on a stick, he knows whats best for you.

if you can still be a religious person after the year 1755 then you are functionally retarded

>physical science can describe metaphysical reality
Silly conclusion to jump to
>>
>>221242944
making a big public show of yourself praying is explicitly called out in the Bible
>>
>>221243075
>literally 99% of nature and existence has been studied
What we have studied anon is the understanding of our material surroundings based on what we can comprehend with our natural-born senses. There is no universal truth. The argument that there is nothing beyond our fields of study is as extreme as saying that the scientific method is untrue. Whether or not God exists or does not is entirely irrelevant.
>>
>>221242689
How often does he still think about Charlie Kirk?
>>
>>221243113
Making a big show for self serving reasons, yes.
But frequently people are called and do make a show of their faith.
Acts 7:54-56
When the members of the Sanhedrin heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him. 55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56 “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”
>>
>>221243142
He'd love to play Captain Kirk. He loves stomping ... klingons.
>>
>>221242990
Ok there’s still nothing wrong with that
>>
>>221243155
>Making a big show for self serving reasons, yes.
such as for self promotion on the internet, yes
>>
>>221243234
I'm not saying Chris Pratt is doing a good job, but public prayer and profession of faith is not "antithetical to the foundational teaching of the religion" The Great Commission wasn't to be secretive and quiet about your faith
>>
>>221242689
I'm having christcuck fatigue this year
>>
>>221243280
It's not even real christianity. It's influencer christianity for the vibes and aesthetics.

>>
>>221243301
He's still going to heaven and (you) are not
>>
>>221243307
Assuming God didn't create everything, make a compelling argument for how it's bad to believe He did
>>
>>221243326
But he's not a protestant. Will Pratt be in a state of grace before he dies? Most trad caths have never been to mass.
>>
>>221243326
He attends some sort of parody free church founded by a convicted child rapist.
Not sure if that sort of place is handing out the keys to heaven.
>>
>>221243351
That's more a question for God, but Google says he regularly attends mass with his Catholic wife and is raising his kids Catholic.

If there is or isn't a god is irrelevant
what matters is I'm here, if by his own creation, still helpless and ultimately not responsible for my actions since I'm unaware of the true nature of existence so I can't be held accountable. a divine test only works when I'm aware of the existence of the test, and since there are many religions who am I to say which one is the correct one?
>>
>>221243272
>but public prayer and profession of faith is not "antithetical to the foundational teaching of the religion"
he's mugging for views and likes on fucking instagram by co-opting prayer you obtuse moron
>>
>>221244007
This is the correct way to look at spirituality. Even the ancients didn't treat the question of the reality of mythology as seriously as we do now.
>>
>>221244135
tbf the ancients didn't really have religion in the way modern society does, where you pick one and it's a core central part of your identity

Well no but they were all relatively connected in the respect that they explained things beyond human understanding with moral and metaphysical tales about Gods and spirits. Not because they didn't understand nature but because they wanted to explain the forces of nature that were central to their lives and couldn't be explained with basic logic, even by modern standards. The Norse/Germanic people for example didn't necessarily believe the universe was made from the hollowed skull of a giant, they didn't necessarily believe that the gods were produced by a magical giant cow who sculpted Odin by licking a pillar of salt. But it gave substance to their already existing beliefs around elemental forces that drove all life in the area.

>And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:5-6

it's funny how edgy atheism is in vogue again after the backlash in the early '10s followed by the "return to Christianity" larp. The fedora tippers are as obnoxious now as they were then

I think there's a certain level of psychopathy required to be a christian

>I believe that billions of people are burning in hell for eternity for no reason other than they didn't follow my religion
the christian idea of hell is a lovecraftian incomprehensible horror that would drive any normal person insane
>>
>>221245421
>the christian idea of hell is a lovecraftian incomprehensible horror that would drive any normal person insane
you actually see the opposite though. pretty much every scholarly review of this dynamic shows that irreligious people have higher rates of anxiety or depression
>>
>>221242914
>>221244662
This.
Pray in secret, give in secret. Don't make a show of your "good deeds", God doesn't like that. Don't ramble on with fancy words in prayer, God already knows what you're asking, just ask. Do these things and he'll reward you. When you make a show of your prayer and giving for others to see, thats it, that's your reward.
>>
>>221243006
>I'm a commie
Who actually says this shit in 2026 lol
>>
>>221245421
You're genuinely retarded and only understand Christianity on the surface from what you've seen on your shows.
Hell isn't a lake of fire, it's LIKE a lake of fire. You're not actually burning or suffering forever. When you die, you will face God and be judged, if he knows of you through accepting his son then you're welcome to the kingdom of heaven. If not you're cast out, he does not know of you (meaning you ain't in the club son), and you're sent to hell.
It's endless torment because you're dead, you're a soul, you can't die, you can't escape. Also you learned for a fact that heaven is a real thing, it's perfect and full of joy. You learned that there is a God and you're completely cut off from his mercy. THAT is endless suffering, might as well be on fire.
The bible doesn't give a factual description of hell other than you're just completely cut off from God and his mercy. It gives metaphor and colourful description, but nothing concrete.
>>
>>221245638
If god knows all that then what's the point in praying? You're asking and saying things he already knows you want and are thinking.
>>
>>221243307
God is in all of us
>>
>>221245793
>Nigga doesn't understand the paradox of Free Will and an All Powerful God.
Alright lets make it simple for you. God is all powerful, he sees all, knows all, inside and out of you. He knows your past, your future. He can see the flow of time. He also knows what decisions you'll make.
>But what about free will!?
Free will was gifted to us by God. Made in his image, we are free to choose our own path. However God both knows what you'll pick in a choice and also doesn't know what you'll pick.
>The fuck? That doesn't make sense, that's not possible.
You're limiting the power of an omipotent being with your ape brain. The contradiction doesn't make sense to us, but to an all powerful being anything is possible. Even limiting his own power. You have to learn to be ok with contradictions when it comes to trying to understand God. The most important part about thinking about God's power is this. Every answer to the question "Can God do [whatever]?" The answer is always yes. Even if they're contradictory.
So praying, asking for his guidance and blessing, giving thanks, even if he knows what you'll say, pleases God because you chose to go to him.

You people crack me up. Also you conveyed why free will isn't even real and then side stepped it to a conclusion that fits your narrative.

>>
>>221245765
Have you experienced all this before? Very descriptive.
>>
>>221246083
Yeah I never understood this. To us mere mortals death is obviously a big deal and a transitional period for us from one form of existence to another. But to god? Especially the god of the Christian Bible and other religions that conquered death and isn't bound by it? It's as meaningless and arbitrary as my friend going from 51 years old to 52. Yet our soul and eternity is bound by the actions we take until that moment. A short period of time compared to that eternity, and that's the only times that god will take into consideration for our judgment. I'm sure some Christian has their own head canon not supported by doctrine to circumvent this weird rule and make it more palatable, but that seems to be the MO for most of their religion.
>>
>>221246479
I'll also add the reason it's even dumber is that we're taught that god has endless forgiveness and you can always repent and come to him. But only until you die. His forgiveness just ends there for some reason. Even though, again, to him death is meaningless. He'll give you countless opportunities to come to him and accept him as your lord and savior, until you eventually meet him face to whatever he has instead of a face.
