He would get caught slower. It would be pretty easy for someone of his intelligence to acquire a burner laptop and a 5G hotspot anonymously. In the worst case scenario he would still have over-the-air television to make his judgements with as he did in the original. More tools are not a bad thing.

>>221252322I know about that blog but the question was if Death Note would happen today. The Lind L. Tailor only works with a character that watches local news, when everyone actually uses the internet and social media which would make that trick practically impossible. Furthermore, there's no guarantee that dead criminals in one nation would be mean that Kira is in that country. If it happened in real life, there's a good chance it could land in the hands of some American Chud obsessed with UK politics. The timeslot of the killings wouldn't guarantee a region either it's kind of bullshit they deduced it's a student in the first place. All those early things that narrowed it down wouldn't really work and those were the most important steps.I mean it would work if Kira slips up and kills some local nobody criminals for a bit, but that takes the fun away.>>221250080I considered that but social media exists and it would quickly become apparent if there is some global announcement of a serial killer and the host has 100000 different names. The logistics of it would be insane too especially since you only get to trick him once. The first few (contrived) steps that narrowed it down to Japan just can't work with the internet and over a billion people with smart phones. Also, the writing the name down shit was only discovered later in the series. I KILL PEOPLE BY WRITING THE NAME DOWN HERE. WATCH THIS."

Didn't he get narrowed down because at first he targeted a local criminal on a local station? I've imagined my own death note scenario and social media would make it pretty much impossible to narrow down anyone unless they do something really stupid. Targets would be delivered not only to you but to everyone en masse. You'd see reels and threads begging Kira to take out someone. There'd be enough copy cats and larpers out there to provide plausible deniability and frankly no one would actually be trying to stop Kira. >>221254957I think after I had the names, I'd just spend a day writing them down and get as many as possible in one go. After that eh, probably just have to do some clean up.
>>221262639>but nowhere near genius like L and Nearif that's so, how did he elude them for so long? Light was certainly not some generational prodigy, but he was still fucking 1st in his class in Japan's top university. and he actually had a semblance of social intelligence, which is something only Mello managed to have.I know it's easy to dunk on east Asians as simply no-life studiers and memorizers with no creativity, but he couldn't have been #1 and managed being Kira simultaneously simply on study habits and being "a [sic] above average student". Light's fucking smart.

>>221262726>I'd just spend a day writing them downeven at a generous one name per two seconds with no breaks and a complete 18 hour day, you'd barely scratch the surface with 32,000 deaths.keep in mind, there are over 11,000,000 incarcerated people. and, unless you're a complete moron, I'm sure you'd want to get a few non-charged "criminals" in there too.

You genuinely have to be retarded to actually get caught using a magical murder notebook.

Death Note is the only kino anime (though the manga is even more kino)
>>221263018I would say "literally never" but your post just made me think of one, so "once" in recent years I guess.
I don't usually watch anime but gave Death Note a shot recently and liked it, It seems that there is no other anime on its level worth watching. Some recommended Steins Gate and Vinland Saga but I immediately lost interest when I saw them pushing trannies in it, no wonder /tv/ calls it Tranime
>>221263543He's right, though.
>>221263825It's pretty depressing how much anime is on the tranny-train full force. Most shounens are safe, though. Just screaming guys punching each other, or pondering on the best motivation one might have for punching each other; what anime was meant to be.
>>221244186The heart attacks are attributed to the COVID Vaccines, the justice system spends all its resources cracking down on "far right conspiracy theories" (like irl) than actually trying to deal with the problem. The situation gets so bad that it is revealed that the vaccines ARE infact killing people off because those in the government involved (and thought they were safe because of a placebo) were also dying (due to Kira) and accused other co-conspirators of a double cross. Society is brought to its knees and Kira either reigns or is killed in the chaos.
realistically he'd never get caught ever period no matter what time period he was in.
>>221252059The only reason Kira did that shit was because he thought he'd never be caught because who would suspect a students notepad being the murder weapon?>Death note just like guns guys GOTTEM
>>221262963Why would you target criminals already locked up?

>>221263966How would you target them before they are?
>>221262639Light isn’t that smart and his success was the result of immense luck. His dad is the head of the task force assigned to nab him and he got plenty of information about criminals thanks to it. He’s lucky to run into Naomi, lucky to have a loyal cocksleeve that does anything he wants, and a death god that helps him out. Being an MC is a superpower. I don’t think I’ve seen more BS luck be misconstrued as intelligence that in Death Note
>>221263660I've been reading the manga for the first time after seeing the anime 15 years ago, and it's really interesting how different the tone is. It's very unromantic I guess I'd describe it. I couldn't hear Low of Solipsism reading any chapter. The pacing is too fast, and it never stops to think about the emotional ramifications of such an awesome power on society.
>>221264013>not that smart>>221262765It takes intelligence to levarage favorable opportunities into positive outcomes.
>>221264077it takes mid-boggling stupidity to turn the position he started from into a defeat
