How come starting in the 2000s, Nick started wanting to be a network for the kids who really wanted to be teenagers? I'm not even kidding, the whole vibe of Nick started being less of a channel that celebrated being a kid and more of a channel for children that fantasize about being a teenager.
>>221247587like idk, Victorious for example always felt like a show for 8 year olds who are like "I wish I was a teenager. That would be so cool". Nick had live action shows about teenagers back in the 90s, but they never felt like they had that fantasy of an 8 year old thinking being a teenager is so amazing. Nick went from a kids channel to a kids channel with a fantasized teen vibe like "Yes! Being a teenager is the best!".

>>221247587As Told By Ginger, Taina, Rugrats all Grown up. Im guessing its because the kids of 90s were now approaching tween age and Nick realized showing repeats of early 90s teenage shows wouldnt cut it anymore.
>>221247587I have wondered if Disney Channel inspired Nick in a way, because shows like Lizzie McGuire and That's So Raven became very popular and I think part of that was because they were kids shows that made 8 year olds think they were watching a teens show because it's about teenagers and those shows made it seem like being a teenager was really cool.
>>221247587I also know that Nick had Slime Time Live for a time and that was for kids. Then they replaced it with U-Pick Live and that to me felt like it was for kids who really wanted to be teenagers, so they made U-Pick Live very tween-y.
