Congrats for finding out the truth, Truman. Now you are free to go to the real world and become homeless since all your diplomas and work experience are fake.
>>
He's the most recognizable face on the planet he can get everything for free forever for life what are you talking about did you even watch the movie
>>

10 autographs would pay for 3 months rent
>>
>>221251538
Lots of previously famous people are forgotten
>>
>>221251517
His balls would be sooo drained absolutely zero chance he'd stick with that one woman
>>
>Wait! He's going out into the real world without knowing how to use the 3 seashells!
>>
>>221251590
immediately?
>>
there's some woman who's still in love with him after 10 years (???) or some shit (i guess she just remained celibate?).
he doesn't know that, but we know that, so i guess they'll meet up and work something out.

she lives in a huge house full of stuff, all by herself, for some reason. so he'll be fine. he basically has a sugar mommy waiting for him.

yes.

look at Pop Idol/American Idol/X Factor/etc. those people were promised a successful pop music career, they had the best possible headstart. not only were they all forgotten in under a year, you can't even name which ones committed suicide.
>>
>>221251634
No one remembers American Idol was originally hosted by TWO guys, not just Ryan Seacrest.

worse than that the only way he'll be able to survive is by leaning into it and trying to be a celebrity. free of his cage and enlightened to the truth he's still dancing monkey
>>
>>221251634
thats a yearly competition, the truman show was 24/7 for several decades. people still make a living doing con circuits from a handful of star trek episodes
>>
>>221251599
>i guess she just remained celibate
hahaha
you're cute
>>
He would probably spend the next 5 years sueing the show runners for image rights/illegal work conditions/ straight kidnapping. He would probably get awarded some millions that would go straight to his legal team, leaving him just 5 years older after the ordeal.
>>
>>221251789
>He would probably spend the next 5 years sueing the show runners
Wrong, since he didn't grow up in modern day America where everyone has brainworms about lawsuits
>>
He pops out in downtown LA or Atlanta.
>>
>>221251777
true, but what's he going to do? you can say it's a product of the internet age (and this movie pre-dated/predicted the reality show boom) but people DO just forget. they always have.

at some stage he'd be in a hospital or mental home because he's sick of either being harassed, or he's been questioning reality.
>i used to be on television, you know!
a similarly-aged orderly would say
>oh yes Mr Truman, i used to watch that show :)
or a younger orderly would say
>ohhh, were you? :)

it's like how everyone on /tv/ remembers how exciting Lost was. but it's not as if they're all guaranteed work or success, because 'i worked on Lost, you know.'
some of the actors, you wouldn't even recognize in the street now.
>>
>>221251517
This is a really mediocre movie and everyone only pretends otherwise because the premise is interesting
>>
>>221251517
he could start an onlyfans

>in modern day America where everyone has brainworms about lawsuits
>modern day
the same actor was in another comedy film about this exact premise, anon.

if anything people used to have thinner skin, more free time. they were MORE frivolous about lawsuits. Harlan Ellison sued everyone and everyone. The Terminator featured a soldier from a future war go back in time, that's like one story he wrote (out of hundreds) where a soldier from a future war goes back in time.
never mind that his story was all about linguistics and fitting in with a host family, James Cameron STOLE his idea!

I think Truman would alright. If it happened today his SoMe following would be very profitable on its own.
>>221251931
That’s Him Carey’s acting career in a nutshell though. Style and concept can be a path to success if it’s interesting enough.

Jim Carrey even. Him Carry is his unknown brother who is known for being him.
>>
>>221251978
It's okay that you're retarded, anon, I'm in a good mood and will help you out. I'm not talking about society when the movies came out, I'm talking about the fact that Truman as per the movie grew up in an idealized version of the 1950s
>>
>>221252007
turtles all the way down
>>
>>221251517
I jerk off like 12 times a day and half of those aren't even at the computer I'll just be laying in bed or on the touch and my hand makes its way to my willy and then before you know it it's FAP FAP FAP. I guess what I'm saying here is there is absolutely no way I'd be on that show unless it was rated adults only
>>
Just the lawsuit resulting from the show would set him for life.
>>
>>221252017
i mean the whole story is a rip-off of Philip K. Dick's Time Out of Joint (with that exact premise, just it was contemporary back then).

of course people in the 1950s were suing the hsit out of each other, anon. arguably slander/libel laws were taken more seriously back then.

we whine about cancel culture and misinformation nowadays, but you could simply NOT post on Twitter. what choice did e.g. Fatty Arbuckle have?

What would he have to say that the audience hasn't seen yet?
>Advertising
The Truman Show probably has trademarked his name and he would have to legally change it - if he even has a citizenship to begin with. He won't be able to use it ads for sure.
>Autograph sales
That's the bottom of the barrel, surely not enough to make a living.

I don't think he would have as comfortable life as he had in the show, but he would survive somehow.
>>
>>221252078
>What would he have to say that the audience hasn't seen yet?
A book about his inner thoughts, which is the part the audience didn't see.
The years of dawning realization, the psychological abuse from the showrunners.
Hell, the show itself is a perfect lawsuit for child abuse.
>NOW WE KILL YOUR FATHER SO YOU ARE AFRAID OF WATER AND CAN'T LEAVE THIS ISLAND
and so many more. All recorded and the reasons explained by its own creator.
>>
>>221252078
He could still do endorsements, like sportsball players
>>
>>221252078
The show uses his name and likeness, he would 100% be guaranteed royalties for the rest of his life and if there wasn't a contract with his benefits written up before hand, the judge overseeing his lawsuit will write it into the flesh of the showrunners after about 40min of deliberation.
There is no world in which Truman doesn't walk away rich.
>>
what is Truman's tax policy?
>>
>>221251517
Applying real life logic to Truman Show is like applying real life logic to Water World
>>
>>221251517
He'd be a celebrity and make cameo appearances on shows and do interviews, he'd be fine, plus he ends up with that girl, right? These days he'd be an influencer and make bank.

>>221252078
>What would he have to say that the audience hasn't seen yet?
You could say that about a lot of successful books.
