>NOOOOO He-Man can't get a sequel !!!!Based. All the lesbians that hated this movie are going to be seething when it gets part 2
>>221263987OOH! That's really good news!It was a good movie!
>>221263987
we got our esg money so who cares if no one actually watched it
I guess money doesn't mean anything anymore.>cue THE ROAD
>>221264155OR it got pirated massively and generated huge positive feedback amongst an audience that Amazon is desperate to win back after ROPe?
>>221263987>makes $100M>dismal>garbage>well received by fans and critics>supergirl>on pace for 30M opening biggest bomb in history>stunning, brave
>>221263987cool. i’ll probably watch the movie when it’s on my buddies plex server.
>>221264193Bezos saved MGM from certain death and this is the thanks you give him? That lion on the middle of the logo needs treats.
>>221264155It just means Amazon doesn't care and will wash whatever cash it wants wherever it wants. Fuck they spend, what a billion or so on 'Oh lawd dem rangs' and it basically has No audience and they keep going so, yeah.
>>221263987As someone who actually watched it and enjoyed it... good? Weird that something can bomb and still get a sequel but I guess that is the world of today. Wish it was that way when Dredd bombed.
>>221264252What? I went to see it in the theatres. First time I paid for a movie since before covid. Drinker made the case for it well, Teela wasn't obnoxious, Idris Elba kinda was but oh well, it had lots of good jokes, the action was good, and the moral of the story was perfect. But expecting an audience that has been endlessly traumatized over the past ten years, including by Amazon, to just know that is obviously asking too much. So the question isn't are they going to see this one, the question is now that they've seen this one and know it's not going to hurt them, will they go see the next one. And I think it's a good bet they will. Plus it's probably a pretty good idea to convince people who spend 5 figures a year on toys, merchandise, and other bits of pop-culture, all of which is sold on Amazon, not to boycott Amazon prime. Bezos has been making smart calls for a while now. I have to say I'm impressed.
>>221263987It's always He-Man and never Her-Man A bit sexist
>>221263987I’m glad the box office didn’t dissuade a sequel. They could’ve easily shut it down and blamed Leto, but they really took the positivity to heart.
>>221263987This is how you know it was always woke shit
>>221264197>on pace for 30M opening biggest bomb in historymore liek 20 million
>>221264643Yup. It's not money that matters, it's the message. Can't get to girlboss She-Ra if we don't make a sequel dontcha know!
>>221263987Teela is going to lezz out and get fucked doggystyle by an old dyke with a strap-on
>>221263987Maybe they shot both movies at the same time like series seasons
It's Travis Knight. During the press tour it sounds like he genuinely loves the IP, he would have bankrolled the sequel himself if this movie was a massive bomb.
>>221263987cool, another movie i can never watch, go them!
>>221263987>See pic related on google>"I bet there's a thread on /tv/ about this">There is
>>221264281If I have all the money in the world, I would invest in a He-Man sequel.
>>221264141How do you think "esg money" works exactly?
>>221265518Pretty much how film production under communism works.
>>221264330or dark crystal: age of resistance. fuck netflix amazon for life!
>>221263987I wish more studios would ignore the box office and make sequels to movies that I liked. I didn't see this one and I'm not going to but plenty of movies I liked didn't get sequels because they didn't make a billy.
>Sorceress and Teela are teleported to a tropical island with their clothes torn to tatters
>>221263987>All the lesbians that hated this movie are going to be seethingThis very board spent months telling me that it was woke shit and I shouldn't watch it.
>>221265382KWAB
>>221263987Dumb ass the sequal is going to be She ras movie.
>>221264197anon why are you comparing the opening to the total grosseven if Supergirl did open at 30M that would be higher than MOTU's opening
>>221264348>now that they've seen this one and know it's not going to hurt them, will they go see the next one. You're forgetting about all the times a sequel or second season of something flipped all that was good about the first. I'm not taking chances on sequels or second seasons either anymore. They have done that much damage to their reputations. It's going to take years to repair this and that is only if the rest of hollywood follows suit, which they won't.
>>221263987I liked this movie. Why was it hated?
>>221264155It's about sending a message
I saw he man this week with my son. I was expecting slop but it was actually really fucking awesome. Everything a he man movie should be. My son absolutely loved it too. We were the only ones in the theater. It deserved so much better. The post credits hint at a she ra movie. I wouldn't see that but masters of the universe was awesome
>>221265456>Have a large fund invested (many billions)>Pull free money out of fund every year (many millions)>Use this money to push wokeness in media>When the media fails to connect with audiences, nobody gives a fuck since they all got paid>Wait another year>Pull more money out of fund>Pay for more woke shitProfit isn't the goal. Changing society though a slow boil is.
>>221263987Really? Cool, fuck the blackpill hatefags.
>>221263987Did anyone else think this was basically a perfect Heman movie? I never felt any contempt for the source material it was just trying to make light about how wacky it is. I enjoyed in 2026 getting a lighthearted comedy movie that wasn't cynical or a parody of Trump. The only serious criticism I can think of is that Heman needs to have a deeper more authoritative voice than Adam. This failed. All the effects were perfect, and the characters too. I felt the love in all the scenes and shots for He Man lore. Not really sure what TONS more you would want from a MOTU movie it gave me even a sweet Battlecat pose.
>>221267169I did. The only changes I'd make would be easy edits. Just remove some of the lame jokes...there weren't all that many. Also, edit like 10 minutes out so it's shorter. Just take out the boring scene after they crash land and he tries to tell teela he loves her. Take out most of the man at arms emotional moments where he gives up drinking and all that. None of that stuff is even major and even with it the movie was awesome
>>221263987>You don't like it but we'll force a franchise on you anyway, Amazon MGM
