I think it's more consequential. Lots of people have ring doorbell cameras, I do too, but I have mine set up so it the sensor only activate on my front step. It doesn't catch cars driving by (or in the case of the movie kids running by). So it's somewhat possible the doorbell cameras might not have seen the kids.
