>>221297934No joke, I'm honestly really confused at what hollywood writers/directors think "normal people" think about space. It seems like they think everyone believes space is literally Heaven and God is hanging out up there in the darkness. That either God's in the Sun or on some distant alien planet humans can fly to. And so whenever someone in their movie goes into space, they're awestruck at being in Heaven and become ultra religious about meeting God or being suicidally depressed about not finding God. It's really weird to me. It's just space and we know what's there for hundreds of years now. They can see it all with telescopes and have sent probes to scan almost everything. Just flying close to the Sun wouldn't mean suddenly seeing God. But they think the audience would expect this?

He was caught up in his god complex and said “if God has decided our time has come, than who are we to question him?” But he forgets that by that logic God also gave humans our greatest survival advantage, we are tool makers, and the bomb was just another survival tool, so if it works it would be gods will that humans survive and he was actually the one fighting gods will. Same thing with the suicide bomber in contact, Gary Buseys son I think.
