I've had a fairly large vegetable and fruit garden for decades, I used to do it all by hand when I was hopped up on authenticity and shit, it's an enjoyable hobby. It wasn't so much the picking of the cotton that was the labor intensive work, it was teasing the cotton seed out of the boll which took some time until the invention of the cotton gin. But yeah, I agree, my dirt farming hillbilly ancestors should have been getting paid fair wages to do that work instead of a bunch of foreign scabs brought over to do it.

Yeah having a garden at home is basically what 95% of humanity did since the Neolithic Revolution and they learned by doing it. You know stuff by doing it. Also my great uncle had a farm with cattle and basedbean fields that I sometimes worked during summer vacations, but that was just like fetching and carrying type work.

We know from Enterprise that cross-species breeding requires special precautions and treatments. It's mentioned in that Voyager episode too and the ones about B'Elanas pregnancy. Klingons also have two dicks, and Jadzia had her private parts surgically adjusted to mate with Worf.
And let's not forget the many mentions of Bolian digestive specifics.

How do you still have a career in Hollywood with a filmography like his? I dont even care that he's Jewish, youd think even the rest of the Hollywood jews would excommunicate him after that many flops.

Shit, even I could accidentally hit at least one home run if I were in his position. You have to almost try to suck this hard. Batting a solid .000 is actually kind of impressive in its own right.

It was alright, the best part of it was seeing Cybertron pre-war, a functioning society of machine people doing their thing. The VA choices were terrible though, why would you waste all that money hiring big-name actors for CGI characters? Johanson did a fine Elita but Optimus and Megatron sound wrong the whole movie, and Bumblebee is just awful.
No clue what the future of Transformers is, atm they're doing their 40th anniversary of the original movie with corresponding toys, and the Image comic seems to be pretty popular.

As anon said, transporter takes care of everything, you can have carpet in the kitchen, bathroom, fish tank it doesn't matter. Crumbs, dust, mould any contaminants get beamed away down to the tiniest fragment. How do you think jeets are tolerated on starships if they weren't constantly tracking and disposing of their vile stink molecules?

You will literally have to a full beam sweep of every square inch of the carpet at least every 24 hours in order to clean all the food and moisture particles trapped in it. Even that probably wouldn't be enough because in those 24 hours you'd still be kicking those particles up into the air just by walking on it. It's gross and energy inefficient. Stop putting carpet in your dining area you freak.

I got back into Trek watching TNG. I had watched a lot of Voyager on TV when I was younger.

I really want to get into DS9 but man the first 2 episodes have not given me confidence. Its 90% mystic schlock with a quick "oh yeah theres a wormhole here" tacked on at the end.
Also its annoying they made Picard antagonistic. What is the point of that?
I have seen clips of the series that make me very interested but I hope those highlights weren't one-in-a-season like Voyager could be.

Survivorship bias.
Someone can go to afterlives that function like The River Styx and come back, because that afterlife, or at least the river (or sea, or whatever it is in the given afterlife) is explicitly a conduit between the living world and the afterlife.
You can't do that shit with afterlives like Heaven or Hell, because they're gated communities that you get sent to by the doorman.
Think Saint Peter is going to sit his ass down and study up on warp technology to figure out how to let a starship out of either afterlife, or reverse a transporter mishap? Don't think so man.
The closest you can get to seeing Heaven or Hell is what Bashir and O'Brien saw in that one shared vision when brain diving Sloan.
There's no coming back from walking into the light, the same as there is no unfucking the thanksgiving turducken.

>Most don't even have english subtitles
>Why are Germans so racist?
Leave it to the burgueristani to think they are the center of the world.
Hey, clapperistanian, let me give you a quick lesson, 2nukesonhiroshimerian:
Subtitles and dubs for movies are made in the country that buys the rights for distribution, not the country that sells them.
If most german movies don't have subtitles, is because YOU THE AMERONIAN don't make them.
Netflix making a gazillion subtitles and having the same movie in 100 countries is an oddity.
If you want to consume other countries culture, the onus is on you to make the minimal effort to reach it. YOU want to watch the german movie, you the consumer country, makes the subtitles.
I know you are like 15 years old and you are accustomed to the Netflix model of getting everything you want at all times, but that's not how it's supposed to be
Having no subtitles on any foreign movie says something about your country, not about every other country in relation to yours.

I repeat what I said
Having no subtitles on any foreign movies you want to watch, says something about your country, not about every other country
If you struggle to find subtitles, that's on you loser
I'm very lucky to have, in my country, some amazing subs sites.
It's like an open source .srt repository, and you can upload your own subs, or even tweaked subs for specific piratebay movie cuts, from all around the globe.
I even ckeck the sub site before piratebay for new movie releases, is very convenient, I just love it.
Anyway, good luck never learning anything.

>>
>>221357375
the Doc makes a list of mistakes and fallacies in this intro to the Academy course on debate. I'd argue he's his old snarky, arrogant self with a twist of wisdom. He knows damn well he's misquoting judge Satie and that his age has no bearing on the weight of his argument, but his students don't, and even if they do they don't have the rhethoric tools ready to disarm him. I think it's cIever and one of my two favorite episodes of Academy so far.

If it's anything like Star Trek VS Transformers then there's a brief misunderstanding between good-guy sides while bad-guy sides team up, followed by the good-guys teaming up to stop them. That seems to be the formula for these things.
>>
>>221357479
You really believe it is more likely that the authors of that episode never checked the script for the accuracy of the quote and noone noticed it as well as wrote in seven more obvious fallacies into that same intro scene than the more obvious and straightforward explanation that this is how you teach young cadets about debate?
okay I guess

I really hate alt universe shit, especially multiverse nonsense. The idea that Picard would have become a racist monster if you step on some butterflies just demeans him as a good character. Because it wasn't about his reasoning, his moral choices, his long speeches about ethics. Turns out he just slipped on a banana peel in one branch of an endless series of alternate versions of himself. There's no good and evil because there are as many universes where he's racist and genocidal as ones where he's a defender of rights.
So it's al pointless.

I’d love to watch a weird crossover at the movies; You can still develop the characters in a new story, while they are on a team, and use them unexpectedly with crossovers. It is possible to achieve, rather than just have them fight like a Godzilla.

Kirk & Raphael or Picard and Raphael Detectives in 1930s. (I know Picard is probably too old).

Or you could cross Star Trek x Goonies, and have the adult goonies help TOS crew.

Each of those would allow a cool story and develop characters we already know.
