I'm actually optimistic. There's real potential here if they get it right. Already close the right man for the job. It depends on how faithful they are to the stories. A v good adaptation of Tower of the Elephant or Rogues in the House would be a smash hit pilot. If they insist on original plotlines, at least keep the themes and feeling. But I've got a good feeling about this one, I think they've chosen well.

Then some Black African Queen tries to fuck Solomon and he refuses even though she's super hot and horny, and he makes friends with a Witch Doctor who does black magic and they get along great even though he's supposed to be a Puritan chud. And then Solomon finds a tribe of good-hearted Savages, stupid yet kind, and deigns to live amongst them as their protector, learning their language and abiding by their primitive ways, until a bunch of monsters kill all the friendly blacks so Kane has to go on a revenge tour to wipe out the monsters, and the whole story ends with a page-long ode to the Black Haired, Steely Eyed Aryan as the World's Ultimate Fighting Man. There's a line in one of the stories that made me laugh, it went like "Solomon would have gladly laid down his life without hesitation to save a child in need - even a negro child!" I think that pretty much sums up the attitude. I love REH like you wouldn't believe.

Nevermind the fact she's an evil woman who sacrifices her loyal black men for the most selfish and petty reasons and the rest of the story is filled with comical levels of casual racism making it unadaptable without so many changes no one would be happy in the end.
