Whos your favourite female director?
The one that's not a director and is a dumb bitch with a tight little body who satisfies all sexual demands and keeps her dumb fucking mouth shut
>>221352400Is this the autistic chick from Billions?
>>221352458Yeah, she directed Sorry Baby
>>221352496>i got le raped and i am le traumatized over it and i le got an abortion and i le hate men but also why won't that guy get my signals that i want to fuckpeak foid shit lol
>>221352635Its actually pretty subdued and you feel bad for her
>>221352400That's a man
Proxy Paige
>>221352700I don't feel bad for her.
Jennifer Kent for me. She directed The Babadook and The Nightingale both are great although the 2nd is dark as fuck. She worked as a production assistant under Lars Von Trier on Dogville and clearly took a lot of inspiration from his style of work
Bleh!
>>221353265>she
>>221353281Look @ dis dood!
>>221353281Ew what the fuck is that

>woman>makes kino>letterbox crowd doesn't talk about her because she doesn't make feminist filmsTCD
>>221354165Die my love was pretty bad
>>221354165she's the best one from a technical and compositional standpoint, but she always chooses shit material
>makes one great movie>dissapears
Jackie Kong made one of my favourite B-movies with 'Blood Diner'.
>>221354238I get that. It was mostly a Jennifer Lawrence/Martin Scorsese film and Lynne was hesitant to direct because she already did motherhood in Kevin. It isn't her best but I liked it.>>221354249Nah material is good, you might just be hung up that she chooses material made for a standard structure, like school shooter and pedophile rings, and turns them into character studies.
>>221354411I get that her whole thing is visually representing an internal monologue and she's fantastic at it, I just don't rate the plot elements of Kevin, Die My Love and Morvern Cellar, and while YWNRH is decent it's pretty slight. I just want to see her work with (or around) an A+ screenplay.
>>221352400Nicky Ranieri, she made (and appeared in) some really good Italian pornos in the 90s. She was also married to legendary pornographer Mario Salieri
>>221352433Fpbp
>>221352400you guys are pathetickathryn bigelow is the answer
>>221354585Zero Dark Thirty killed any chances of her being the best female director. Actual tryhard film.
>>221354639She made Near Dark and she was hot
>>221352400>Whos your favourite female director?I don’t really have a favorite. However, honorable mentions. Katherine Bigelow of course. Kasi Lemmons, although I have not seen her most recent films.Miranda July. Her films are funny, but in a good way. Sally PotterMaybe Claire Denis and Agnes Varda, although I haven’t really watched enough of their films. The Wachowski sisters , (yes, I jest). There seem to be a lot of fdmale directors firecting decent TV show episodes, so some of those are probably decent, they just haven’t done films, so it’s hard to say.
>>221353159she hasnt looked like that in 15 years
>>221355252well she looks nice there, i don't expect a pornstar to look good after 15 years of gaping
>>221352400Female director. Lol, that's pretty funny. There was that woman who made American Psycho and didn't James Cameron's wife make "The Hurt Locker"?
>>221352400I can't think of any great female directors, unless you count Leni Riefenstahl. There have been good female editors though. Some guy recently said something like, "Your favourite film was edited by a woman, and editing is really the key creative process, so your favourite film was directed by a woman!"Obviously he's a fag, but if we take him at his word, I can nominate an editor, so it's hard to argue against Thelma S.A couple of other examples:Jaws (someone called Verna Fields, apparently. She didn't do that much by the look of it). They like to say Star Wars was "edited by a woman" but Marcia Lucas was only one of three. Not sure exactly how big her contribution was. (But she did get an Oscar nomination for doing American Graffiti so maybe it was a lot. Don't think we'll ever be sure.)
>>221353986This. All kino.
>>221354316That film sucks and you know it.
>>221355369>didn't James Cameron's wife make "The Hurt Locker"?Kathryn Bigelow. They were married briefly, late 80s. Parted amicably. Surely didn't hurt her career but dunno more than that.

>>221353519What is Lexi up to since Warzone? Always respected Mary Lambert for directing Pet Sematary I and II, and using entirely different tones and aesthetics for both, with the sequel being more metal to the original's Blue Oyster Cult https://letterboxd.com/director/mary-lambert/

>>221353986She's so hot
>>221354165Was going to post Lynne Ramsay as one of mine. Claire Denis, Sally Potter, Dea Kulumbegashvili and Catherine Breillat are also great.
>*writes pure kino*
>>221352400Ida Lupino is better known as an actress but her noir films are excellent. She also directed a bunch of tv shows in the 1960s but I haven't seen most of those (or didn't know she was the director).
>>221353265Is that a tranny or an ugly woman? If it's a tranny, it would explain why the Babadook was such astroturfed dogshit.
She's not my favorite female director (this is the only thing I've seen of hers), but DEBS is pure kino. Funny and great eye candy to boot.
The chick who directed Wayne's World.
